Final: I Found You

"Please..."

It's dark...

"Come back..."

A voice...

"I need you... You can't leave me."

The voice sounds so hollow. It echoes around in the darkness.

"Y/n, please... come back to me."

It suddenly hits you after hearing your name coming from that voice - it's Jungkook. This has happened before, you dreamed of it. Are you dreaming again?

"Come back... please! Don't leave me! Y/n, you have to wake up!"

You try to speak but nothing comes out, just like last time. You can't do anything. You're conscious but you also have no sense of anything. It's just blank. Empty.

"How could you do this to me?! I hate you. I hate you so, so much! Why won't you wake up..."

He doesnt mean that - you hope. He's just hurting. But why is he hurting. Is it something you've done? What could you have done to make him sound so angry and distraught? This isn't real anyways. It's just another nightmare.

"It should've been me. Why did y-you have to do that? I would have been fine."

Another voice cuts through. "Kook, you know that's not true. You could have died too..."

"I had a better chance than her! I could have survived. But now she's gone..."

Gone...

Another voice, spoken softly and carefully. "Maybe, but she obviously cared for you and would want you to live on... She died for you."

"I miss her already-- I miss you..."

Somehow, even though you're surrounded by nothing, everything stops. You died.

"Y/n..." A bright light shines behind a silhouette, allowing you to finally see something besides darkness. "My dear Y/n," a hauntingly sweet and familiar voice says.

You gasp and seem to choke on nothing. "M-mom?"

"Yes, baby, I'm here."

You can feel your legs now and you walk towards her, your steps slow and unsteady at first. "M-mom, I've missed you so m-much," your voice cracks lightly.

"I missed you too. But what are you doing here? You shouldn't be here sweetheart..." You can finally see her face. Her soft eyes that hold so much warmth and love. Her gentle smile. She literally glows. "Y/n, you don't belong here."

Hearing her say that sends a pang in your chest. "Mom--"

"It's not your time yet, baby, you have to go back. We will meet again, okay? But you have to go back. You still have so much to do. I want you to be happy."

Instantly you feel a bit better hearing her say that but you still are sad. You've just gotten to see and hear her for the first time in years - you don't want to leave. You don't want to not see or hear her again. "I'm not happy there anymore. I don't think I ever will be."

Her hand reaches out and cups your cheek, the warmth seeping into you, a feeling of peace and what you could only describe as what sunshine feels like tingling through you.

"Oh, sweetheart you will be happy. You just have to be brave. There will be hard times, that is just life, but you can and will have happiness. You have people - someone - who cares a lot for you."
