I posted this as an announcement earlier, but I thought I'd share it here so I might get a bigger response.
I have a quick question for you guys. Please let me know your opinions.
I've been doing a series of short stories to help me world-build for a future fantasy series. The series is about a half-fae girl named Rhian that joins The Jade Guard, an order of shield-wielding knights that are immune to magic, and discovers that she has abilities that could make her a valuable weapon as well as a target for the enemies of the country she serves.
The short stories focus on various characters including the villain, other members of the guard and the main character's parents. They're fun to write and they are definitely helping me figure out how exactly Rhian's world works. I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested in reading them. It'll be a while before I post the actual book. I want to do my horror story before that. I know this is kind of jumping the gun, but it really helps to get feedback. I'd love to get your opinions on the different characters and bits of lore. Spoilers for the main story will be kept to a minimum.
What do you think? I may post them as a book by themselves if there's a lot of interest in them. I already have a few completely finished I can go ahead and put up for you guys if you want.
Edit: "Wyvern: The Jade Guard Short Story Collection" is now up with the first two stories! "Fetch" focuses on a Jade Guard that plays an important part in the future protagonist's life. You even get to see her at the end. The story ends right where the main plot begins. Moon introduces some other characters Rhian will eventually meet. It's the first story in what will probably be a three-parter. I'm working on the follow up to it now.
Thank you everyone for your encouragements! I hope you enjoy these little stories and they make you look forward to what I've got lined up after The Goblin's Trilogy is completed. :)
