Chapter 3

Storm had already watered the yard, so there were drops of water on the grass and the plants. My friends were sitting nearby and everyone else was at their classes. I was going to be the first to start the practice. Before that though, I was stuck looking at the drops and they were so beautiful. Suddenly, they started floating.

Me: Am I controlling the water?

X: And not only that. Try to control the earth too.

I saw down and put my hand on the ground. I focused. Then a small crack appeared, it started under my hand and went all the way to a tree that was cut in the middle.

X: You can control the four elements of nature. In a week, a professor with the same powers will come and help you. Aurora, it's your turn now.

Aurora's POV

Wow! Alicia can bend all four elements! Then the professor turned to me and said

X: I want you to concentrate on that tree –he showed me a palm tree- and show us your power.

I turned towards the palm tree and concentrated on it. I raise my hand, focus and as I close my fist, the palm tree exploded.

B (Bobby): Remind me to never make you mad!

With the corner of my eye, I saw Margaret looking at me with a shocked expression.

X: Now, I want you to reverse what you did. Revitalize it.

Me: I don't know how.

Alex: I believe in you.

I smile, without turning to look at him, and focus on the place where the palm tree used to be. I close my eyes and feel a white energy flood my body. When I open my eyes, the palm tree was still destroyed. I felt so disappointed.

Me: I'm sorry, I couldn't.

Al (Alicia): What are you talking about? The crack has disappeared...

Alex: And the tree that Scott had destroyed 10 years ago... it's brand new.

Me: Really? I was just trying to fix the palm tree.

X: With time, you will learn to control it.

After the training, we were free from class and we went back to our room.

End of Aurora's POV

After we returned to our room, we showered and when we were done I spoke to Aurora

Me: I am going to leave for half an hour, cover for me. I'll explain everything later.

A: Okay.

I sneaked out and looked for Pietro, but I didn't find him. After a while, I went back to the school. When I entered the room, I saw Aurora lying. I put on my pajama, went to bed and I heard her say

A: Are you sleeping?

Me: I didn't get the chance. Why aren't you sleeping?

A: I can't because I wanted to tell you what happened yesterday.

Me: Me too.

Then we shared our news, until the moment we met.

Me: So, you like Alex?

A: Of course. How can I not like him? And you like Pietro!

Me: I was sure you were going to comment on it.

A: What do you think of Alex?

Me: He's a good guy and I like that he encouraged you during the training.

A: Thanks to him I used my power. And in order to change the subject, I can't wait to meet Pietro.

Me: If I could find him myself, I would introduce him to you. That's where I was today, I went to look for him.

A: What do you mean?

Me: Truth is that since I met him yesterday, I've been thinking about him... not all the time, but I think about him.

A: Alicia and Pietro sitting on a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G!

Me: You're the one doing those things, especially now that you fixed the tree.

A: I fixed it for you, to make your life easier!

Me: You say that you did it for me, but deep down you think of someone else when you say it.

I said and winked.

A: What? It's not my fault that he's so sexy! But I prefer the bedroom. I will leave the branch for you.

She said and blew me a kiss.

Me: Ah, but of course... you break the branches or the whole tree.

A: And you search but cannot find.

She responds throwing a pillow towards me.

Me: It's okay, his loss!

I threw the pillow back.

A: You're right.

Then there was a knock on the door, we told them to come in and it was Alex. Then I started laughing and a pillow landed on my face.

A: Shut up!

Alex: Did I miss something?

A: No. Do you need something?

I continued laughing on my own.

Alex: Would you like to go for a walk, the three of us, around the halls? We can't go outside. If it's after 12, the alarm goes off.

Me: I don't want to. I am tired. I'll go to sleep.

Aurora's POV

Me: Give me a minute to get ready.

Alex: You don't need to do something. You are already beautiful the way you are.

He said and winked. He left the room. I brushed my hair, put my shoes on and went after him. Then I heard Alicia singing.

Al: Aurora and Alex sitting on a...

Me: You shut up. You were tired, weren't you? Go to sleep now.

I left the room and we started walking down the hallways. We were talking

Alex: How brave are you?

Me: Why? What's on your mind?

Alex: Follow me. And be quiet.

He grabbed me by the hand, we went into Logan's room and through his window we ended up on the roof. We left the window open, so we could get back inside.

Me: I can't believe we just did that.

Alex: We're here, alone. I think you need to believe this.

Me: I can't believe he didn't wake up.

Alex: Luck is on our side.

He said and started getting closer to me. Then, I laid back and pulled him from the hand to lay next to me, but I put a little more strength than I should and he lightly hit his head making a thud. He laughed and his smile was amazing.

Me: Your smile shines brighter than the stars.

Alex: It's nothing compared to your eyes.

We started getting closer and when our lips were inches apart, we heard Logan coughing and staring at us.

Alex: Logan! How come you have the perfect timing?

He said sarcastically. Logan had a serious expression and answered

L: I always do with you.

Me: What do you mean always and with him? –I said while elbowing Alex.

L: Follow me. We're going to the professor.

Me: But, isn't he asleep?

L: We always wake him up with these matters.

I give Alex a death stare.

L: Go to his office and we'll be there shortly.
