"A box with no key? And some plane tickets? Really?"
"Tyler, It's cool. No biggie okay?"
"Yes IT IS A BIGGIE! My stupid mom can't even send me something good.."
He was upset. I could unserstand why. He had just gone through his depression mode, and now he was in his 'Angry with the world' mode. I didn't blame him though. I mean, his dad had just died, and all we got were some plane tickets to his funeral and a box that had no key.

It was a few weeks later before Tyler went back home. He had stayed at my house because he needed some company, but he was starting to get upset. I wanted my bed back to myself, so I didn't resist him going home.
He said goodbye, and walked back to his house. I had just spent three whole weeks with him, but I missed him when he went. I walked to my room and layed on my bed. It smelled like Tyler, and I hugged the pillow and fell asleep imagining Tyler next to me.
The next morning I woke up with a smile on my face. We had both slept in, and I knew that Tyler would be in a better mood since he had slept in his own bed, and I was just feeling good.
I decided to 'dress up' a little fancier than usual and make reservations to an up-scale restauraunt for dinner. After I told Tyler he came back over looking better. He had taken a shower, and I could tell that he was feeling better too. When we sat down at the island in my kitchen he saw the box that was still sitting there. His face fell a little, but he tried to ignore it.
"What would you like for breakfast?" I was going to get his mind off that stupid box no matter what.
"I'll make it.. we both know that even though I'm the guy.. I make the better food."
We laughed and I decided to pick a movie. After breakfast we watched 'Men in Black' and 'Men in Black 2' and we laughed at how cheezy they were. After the movies we decided to go ahead and start getting ready, so he went back home and I went upstairs to my room.
After I started picking things out to wear, I decided to try on some jewelry for the evening. I hadn't opened up my jewelry case in a long time, and after going through my never-ending pile of jewelry I decided on wearing a necklace that Tyler had given me when we were eight.
I was starting to get ready, and I had already taken off my shirt when I looked out my window and saw Tyler in his bedroom. He wasn't wearing anything but his boxers, and I quickly pulled my eyes away and shut my curtains. Our bedrooms were right across from each others, and If we got a board we could make a bridge from his balcony to my window.

That night was alot of fun, and it was a much needed night off of cooking. Tyler made jokes, and I was laughing, and it felt like nothing had been going wrong lately.
After we had ordered dessert, my purse fell off the chair, and I leaned over to get it. When I leaned back up Tyler's eyes went wide and I got really self contious. "What is on me?" I was a tad frightened too, but i was still smiling.
"Your necklace. It.. Where did you get it?"
"You gave it too me, silly. We were eight. It's been a while, but I thought I'd wear it. Why?"
"Becasue. It's been tucked in your shirt, and I remember what I put inside the little box that is on the chain."
"What?" I was extremely curious now.
"I'll tell you when we get home." I opened my mouth to ask what would happen if he forgot, but he interrupted me. " And don't worry. I WON'T forget."
He smiled, and then our desserts came.
***************************
When we finally got home he snatched my necklace and broke the chain. "Sorry, but it's important." He tried to get it open, but it wouldn't budge. "Do you have a hammer?"
"Yes? I ran into the garage and got out one of my old hammers. I came back and Tyler ripped the hammer out of my hand. He started pounding the box that was on the chain, and a little door popped off the front of the box. "I put a key in here a long time ago. Dad told me to keep it extremely safe, because it woud be very important one day.. So I decided to put in this box and give it to you."
"So.. It fits the box that mom sent you?"
"I'm hoping."
I took the hammer, and he took the box and the necklace, and we ran upstairs into my room. We sat on the bed, and he took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing."
Sure enough, it unlocked the box, and when we opened the box all sorts of letters, hundred dollar bills and one envelope fell out. I ripped open the envelope open, and handed the letter over to Tyler.
"It's from.. Dad.."
"It'll be okay.."
"I know.. shush.. I wanna read it."
He just kept reading and reading, and he eventually started to laugh, and then cry, and then he nodded and looked at me. He looked pitiful, and I wanted to make him feel better.
"I don't know what to do about this letter Allie, but I think I need to go home and process it...."
I was sad for Tyler, and I just wanted to make him feel better. I leaned over in my exitement and kissed him on the cheek. I knew it surpised him, and It felt kind of out of place. I needed more practice in kissing...
