Misery

Wow. That's all I had to say about Emily. She was quivering in rage and my father shrunk down from her anger. He crawled into his car and drove away. Jacob pulled me into a tight bear hug and I cried out in pain. He pulled away and looked in concern at me. I said, "It's just my side."

He nodded and whispered in my ear, "Sorry."

I nodded and I walked to where Emily was. I pulled her into my embrace and said, "Thank you."

She smiled, grabbed my hand, and pulled me into the house. Everyone was here except Leah and Seth, who were probably at dinner with their folks. Emily went right to the kitchen with Sam following right behind her. I went right to the stairs and Paul protested, "Dan, where are you going?"

I said, "It's been a long day. Night guys."

There was a chorus of nights and Jacob stayed downstairs with the guys. I opened the door to my room and I grabbed a tank top, a pair of cotton shorts, a towel, my bag of toiletries, and underwear.

I went across the hall and into the bathroom, where I locked the door and turned on the shower. I pulled off my shorts and underwear, then carefully pulled off my shirt. My side was covered in blood and I wrinkled my nose. I undid my bra and stepped into the warm spray of the shower.

I gently wiped away all of the blood and then I washed my body carefully. Then i washed my hair with my strawberry scented shampoo and let the matching conditioner sit. I shaved my legs and armpits and then down there. I rinsed out the conditioner and turned off the shower. I wrapped my towel around me carefully and grabbed my clothes and left the steamy, cramped place. I walked into my room and I locked the door behind me. I put my hair up in the towel and I dressed quickly. I towel dried my hair and laid on top of the comforter on my bed.

Someone knocked on my door and I said, "One second."

I got off the bed and I unlocked the door and opened it. Jacob was standing there shirtless with just a pair of basketball shorts on. He kissed my cheek and said, "What were you doing before I interrupted?"

I said, "Laying down. "

I walked back over to the bed and laid back down. Jacob laid beside me and he delicatley pulled me into his arms. He said, "I love you, Danni."

I smiled and said, "Not as much as I love you."

He growled playfully and said, "You have no clue how much I love you."

"Yeah, I do. Not as much as I love you."

He got up and propped his hands on either side of my waist and straddled my legs. He growled, "That's not possible."

He kissed me passionately before I could say anything. I wrapped my arms around my neck and eagerly kissed him back. Jacob licked my lip and I opened my mouth a little and he put his tongue inside his mouth. He explored my mouth and then we engaged in a war of the tongues.

I pulled back and said, "Its a truce."

He grinned and laid beside me again. I curled up into his arms and after five minutes I heard him snoring. I chuckled lightly and snuggled into his chest.

I woke up and looked at my watch. It was three in the morning. Jacob had gone home, I guess. I stretched and instantly flinched. There was the sound of nails on a window. I looked behind me and there was a face grinning at me. It was female and she was ghastly pale. Vampire. I went to scream but she broke through the window and grabbed me by my neck.

I screamed as she dragged me off the bed and outside. She put her hand over my mouth and my screams were muffled. She took off running through the reservation. Please god. Help me. Please. Get this creature away from me. And so I prayed to no avail. She ran and ran and ran and ran and ran. Jesus help me. Then, she stopped outside a cave with bars over the mouth of it. She opened the bars and threw me in and locked up the bars. Then she ran away. I started crying. Then I remembered. I had my cell phone. I shakingly typed in Jacob's house. I pressed send. It rang and rang. Then Billy answered in his gravelly voice, "Danni, where are you?! Everyone is looking for you."
