"Regan?? You okay buddy?" Nobel asked, Regan wished he didn't.

Regan kept his head down and took the consequences for agreeing to come to this diner. The dark haired girl hated him, which he had figured he deserved, because of what he had done to her. The others didn't know and silently wished she won't expose his secrets to the rest of the gang. The others didn't even know her name and he wished it to stay that way too.

"If it isn't Regan Atwood," The girl folded her arms across her black 'I'm not your target' hoodie. "You said we would never cross paths ever again."

Regan stood up, facing her. He hated her as much as she hated him.  He was almost half a head taller than her. "Why? You wanna fight?" He challenged, knowing he could never win. But if he did he could rub it in her face.

"No, I just want you and your friends to leave. Do not pay. I don't want or need your money." She said and with that they were officially banned from a very popular diner, for the first time in their lives.

After that, the gang sat outside in the memorial park speechless.

"Who was that and how does she know you??" Nobel, being the curious person he was, asked.

"No one you need to know."

The weekend had passed like a snap. There was a surprise battle simulator test that wasn't announced the week before. The gang sat in the hall waiting for their turn in the battle simulator. Regan was starting to get awfully annoyed with Drew because he kept pestering him about who his childhood grudge was.

"Come on man," Drew wined again for the fifth or sixth time of the day. "You can't hold it in forever. Hhmmmmmmm......" Drew wiggled his light brown brows at his friend.

That was the last straw. "Fine," He snapped at Drew, making him more scared than satisfied. "Her name is Kendra and--"

"Ughhh! What kind of name is that?" Dustin from Zulu twisted his face in disgust.

"Exactly." Regan agreed, even when he absolutely hated to agree with Dustin. "Anyways, she was in pre-melee with me...well, until she got booted, discipline issues. It kind of surprised me though, she was Mana 5 at that time-"

"Foxtrot. You're up," Commander Zayn pointed to the room of the battle simulator.

The bunch silently shuffled into the room knowing they'd get screamed at after five minutes.

"Start simulation level one," Commander Zayn said and closed the door.

"Oh god not again!" Nobel sighed as the first wave of enemies advanced on the group.

Regan sighed and charged forward putting all his anger and fear, all his negative emotion into every blow he inflicted in the sand peasants, poor peasants, everything that hurt him, every bit of anger, he just gave it all to those poor, poor sand peasants. He didn't care. He didn't want to stop killing them, even though he was all drained of mana. Slashing and slicing, he ripped the sand peasants limbs off, making them disappear into thin air. All his squadron mates were somewhat staring at him an shock, not moving a muscle. Until...

"Foxtrot out!!" Commander Zayn's voice screeched out from the overhead speakers. "Good job boys, improvement finally."

Drew and the others smiled sheepishly and scuttled out to their dorms.

"Welcome back champs! I heard about your improvements in the simulator!" Their Arch-Mage was waiting for them inside their dorm. "Zayn said you boys could break today after your massive improvements. Good job again and enjoy today." The Arch-Mage left, leaving the gang alone to decide what they should do for their day off.

"Sooo what should we do??" Drew said excitedly.

" I don't know...I'm pretty hungry, Regan??" Hank replied but checked on what their leader wanted to do.

"Hmm?? Oh I'll just chill in the dorm. You guys go have fun." Regan replied and walked to his bed.

"Okay then see ya later." And with that the others left.

Hank decided they pay Kendra back for her food and get on good terms mostly because Hank loved her cooking. The others had to agree with him and they headed down to BaconHair Diner.

"Hello what would you like to eat—you again. Where is Atwood??" Kendra asked eyeing them suspiciously.

" He's not coming." Nobel said and picked up his menu. " May I have a Chiko roll?? Lemonade."

"Okay sure. Anything else?? Gazpacho?? It's freshly cooked." Kendra said and Hank ordered a Gazpacho. Kendra shrugged and walked away.

Once the food was ready Kendra brought it to them and sat on the empty chair. "You guys are in Skyhaven right?" She asked as they ate their food.

Drew nodded, "Yep. You from there too??" He asked even though he knew what her answer was going to be. Kendra just nodded and didn't elaborate. "How come I never see you? Which squadron are you in?" Drew asked, because he wanted an answer on why she got booted.

"Okay." Kendra scratched her head. "Well, I got booted. Your friend had something to do with it. He's the reason why." She said and smirked a bit. "He's the reason I'm not continuing my studies at Skyhaven and he is also the reason I am where I am now. It's sort of a win-lose situation."

Drew nodded, before he could ask another question Nobel asked one.

"What was Regan to you at that time?" Nobel said, looking at the dark haired girl and waiting for an answer.

"He was my best friend..."
