After one of the longest car rides Drew had ever sat through was only barely an hour. This, with Kendra, was about three times more than that. Drew was starting to feel sick as sitting at the rump of the animal caused her to experience most of the bumpiness.
"Kendra--" She was about to say but the other girl had already pulled her animal to a stop.
"I know. I know. Is it really that bad?" Kendra patted Drew's brown hair. Than without warning, lifted the smaller girl and placed her in front. Kendra now sitting at the back. "There, you should hold until we get home."
Home? Drew thought. Since when had Kendra's house start to refer itself to Kendra and Drew's home?
Drew smiled a little. Kendra shifted her seating position and flicked her wrists, making a sound that somewhat was pronounced as 'Yew'. Then her animal, the Ravanger, started charging straight into the distance.
Drew had somewhat recognized this view. This was the view from Kendra's balcony window. This was near the house. Drew sighed in relief and leaned back onto the dark haired girl's chest and closed her eyes...

"Alright, it's bed time. Drew? Drew." Drew's brother Cristen shook her shoulders. "Drew?"
Drew felt herself chuckle but then realized a fact that she knew: Her brother was dead.
This was a dream. And Drew snapped her eyes open. Kendra was standing there. Looking down at her. "Drew?" Then she saw that Drew's eyes were open. "Oh good, you're awake. It's time for bed."
"Food?" Drew asked, looking at Kendra with a slight tilt in her head, like a puppy, except a human puppy. "Have you eaten yet?"
Kendra nodded her head. "You hungry?"
Drew shook her head. Then Kendra stretched out her hand for Drew to take. "Come on, it's time for bed." Drew took it and Kendra pulled her up, up the stairs, up into the attic and onto their shared bed...
