The screech was too recognizable. A Ravanger. And it was close. Too close. Drew screwed her eyes shut as she turned around and drew her weapon...
Then it became all quiet... a little too quiet.
"Drew?" A voice which made Drew jump a mile. "Is that you there?"
Footsteps. Kendra's voice, thick with her unusual accent no one else had. Drew peeked open her eyes, slowly. She looked at the dark haired girl. Today was no different with what she usually wore. Black leather pants and a shirt, with the hood pulled up to cover her forehead and hairline. Topped off with her bandit mask and piercing gaze, fixed on Drew, as if she were the predator eyeing her prey.
Kendra's eyes gleamed as she untied her bandit mask. Underneath was her smile, it was small but still very visible to Drew. Her lips pinched together. Drew observed the other girl. She had some sort of fur on her pants. Grey and rough. Maybe obtained from her battles with that Ravanger?
"So... what's up?" Kendra unlocked her, stepping aside to let Drew in. She made sure to put her shoes up on the rack so it looked neat. Drew copied what she did and was rewarded with a smile.
Drew looked at Kendra and put her hand on her short brown hair. She had cut it when she finally went to Skyhaven after her brother supposedly died. She changed her name and look. No one recognized her and then managed to get into Skyhaven under covered as a male. "Well... your hair was in my room. Nobel saw. And said I had dyed my hair."
"But you never-"
"Exactly my point. They're suspicious of me. They might find out that I'm-"
"A girl. True. I can brainwash them?" Kendra was awfully helpful and it was starting to creep Drew out a little. "Or I could throw-"
"Ah no. You don't have to do all those stuff. It's fine."
Kendra gave Drew a raised eyebrow.
"Really." Drew insisted.
Kendra shrugged and shrugged off her jacket-that Drew never noticed she was even wearing-and walking into the kitchen to wash her hands. "So you decide to hide out here? Don't you have school?"
"Yeah but..." Drew whined, giving Kendra the puppy eyes.
"Fine stay here." Kendra walks out of the house without another word.
Drew watched the door close silently. Did she say something wrong? Did she finally make Kendra hate her?

Author's note:
AaAAAaa I'm kind of sorry for being mean the other time. But... for some reference: Last updated 30th March 2020.
I got lazy when the MCO started. So sorry :(
I did find out more about Kendra during the past few months. I have deeply bonded with the character and finally know what her past was and what her future is going to be.
And this was, an incredibly short chapter. I'm sorry. I can say I was busy but I actually was. I was caught up on my colab with Turtleawe and didn't have the time to write this. Next week. I promise. 1k words or more. Again. Sorry. And see you all next week <33
