Wylie Endal

Sophie's first crush was in 6th grade on popular boy Wylie Endal. All the other girls had fallen for him, fawning over his beautiful eyes and smooth, rich voice. And so, swayed by her one year younger best friend Biana Vacker's constant talk about him, she slowly fell for him too.

Sophie wasn't ugly. In fact, she was quite pretty, with uniquely colored deep brown eyes and soft, blonde hair, she was one of the prettier girls in the school. But it still came as a surprise when he asked her out as his date in the spring dance.

She and Biana freaked out the day before, shopping for the perfect dress that complimented their features. Fitz Vacker, Biana's older brother who was two years older than Sophie, laughed at them both freaking out, as he would be traveling to the Forbidden Cities on a trip and wouldn't be able to make it to the dance. But nonetheless, he helped them pick out dresses they all liked, and prepared them the best he could before leaving for the Cities.

That day, they both walked into the dance, feeling extremely proud of themselves, only for Sophie to see her fantasized crush, Wylie Endal, kissing Linh Song in the corner of the dance room.

She felt the tears coming on as she quickly ran, running out of the dance floor and into an empty bathroom stall, feeling the tears falling rapidly down her face. In her imagination, she pictured Wylie running after her, apologizing and telling her he was sorry.

That moment never came.

Tam Song

After getting over Wylie, she began to hang out with Linh more, realizing she really wasn't all that  bad. Wylie and Linh were still together, but Linh had apologized profusely to Sophie, claiming that she didn't know Wylie had asked Sophie to the dance and promised she would talk to Wylie about it.

After meeting Linh, she met her twin brother, Tam Song. She was absolutely smitten the second she saw him. Stunningly bright blue eyes like his sister, with black hair that swept over his eyes. Someone she absolutely adored, and because of that, she went over to Linh's house much more often. Of course, she wanted to hang out with Linh too, but she always secretly watched Tam whenever he walked past.

She and Biana had slightly grown apart due to her spending so much time at Linh's. Surprisingly, though, Sophie and Fitz got closer after they were sorted into a special telepathy class with Tiergan. Both of them were highly advanced telepaths, and they found themselves spending time with each other a lot more often to complete homework.

So when Valentines Day was just around the corner, she asked Fitz, naturally, for help.

"I need help, Fitz! I don't know how to talk to boys, and you're a boy!"

Fitz smirked. "Clearly. Look, I don't know Tam that well, and I'm no expert on love. Ask Biana for help or something." And with that, he went back to his math homework, which he still hadn't completed.

Sophie was hesitant to talk to Biana, after rarely speaking to her at all, but she approached her nonetheless.

"Bi, I need your help."

"What about?"

"Well, I have a crush on Tam Song-"

Biana slammed her book and stood up, a grin on her face. "Say no more! Valentines Days coming up-maybe you could ask him on a date?"

"I don't know him that well, Bi!! He wouldn't say yes, anyway. I need to get to know him better first-but that I don't know how to do without seeming awkward!!"
