Jaden's POV:

I open my eyes to a shitty, new morning. The sun has been hitting right on my face for about an hour, which wouldn't have happened If I'd actually gotten up to close the curtains last night.

I've been all night with meds. As in, three hours or so. I got here something around eight in the morning, and once my parents convinced me that they gave Claire the breakfast she needs and that they took her to school safely, I was surprised, so I took some pills and got in bed, just to relax my mind a bit..

Now It's 11:34, as my alarm clock shows. I haven't heard my parents in quite a while, and Claire leaves school in thirty minutes or so. Where are they now.

It's not like I can't trust them. They have really good and fresh times in their lives, where It's fucking great to have them, and then come the real fucking bad ones, where I get the complete and sudden urge to beat the shit out of them. I don't, of course. I'm not that type of teen who enjoys the idea of being imprisoned at 17.

I get up from the bed and observe my surroundings. My backpack was thrown on the desk chair, and I'm glad one of the girls brought It to the hospital because If not, well the weed would go into someone else's system.

I pick up my ass and grab the backpack, pulling It back to me as I sit on the bed.

I take out the small bag of joints and leave It behind me. Then I also take out the bottle of Vodka and once I take a good look in there, there's a folded paper at the very bottom.

My hand pulls It out and as I observe It from the outside, I can't identify anything on It, so I decide to open it.

I don't like you, please stick that to your brain.

I knew It. What person wouldn't defend themselves with something they know is accurate. That's fucking right, everyone does It. She even sent It on paper.. as If she didn't have a phone where I messaged her already.

No hard feelings though, but now I'm not going for her again. I kissed her once and that's It. She fell in love easily and I'm just satisfied with that.

I finally crumble up the paper and throw It in a little garbage in the bathroom. My teeth flush of greatness after I slowly brush them, and I finallt look at myself in the mirror. My bruises were much worse than before, they were completely swollen, like an air bubble was forming itself in there.

I shrug at myself and get out of the bathroom.
I decide I'll finally take my phone out and call up my parents. If I have to pick her up at least I want to hear It being said from their lame asses.

Dad picks up on my mother's phone. "Yeah?" He asks straight on.

"Claire. Who's gonna get her?" I ask, walking around the second floor.

"Oh, we've picked her up already, Isn't that right Claire?" I hear the phone being moved.

"Huh?" Claire muffles out.

"Hey Claire!" I smile, as my sister was on the other line.

"hey Jaden" I could imagine her smile through the phone.

"You with mom and dad?" I ask, just so she can somehow confirm that everything's good.

"Yup! They're taking me to a place called Daking Donuts, I think."

"Dunkin" My mother speaks up on the line.

"Dunkin" Claire repeats into the phone.

"Oh, alright" I grin alone. "Have fun then!" I'm surprised they actually thought about her for once. I suppose things are starting to change but in a good fucking way this time. Well, I hope that's what It is.

I walk my way downstairs and grab a bowl, filling It to the brim with milk and Cocoa Krispies. I take a few first swallows and fuck around on my phone, when I don't know who, rings the doorbell.

"Fuck.. my life."

I walk over to the door and see them through the window. It's Mrs. Stale, the old lady from next door. Haven't seen her come annoy our house in a while now..

I grin as I open the door and watch as her face goes from dull to surprised, and shocked.

"Oh My God, Jaden! What happened to your sweet face?"

I look at her with furrowed brows. "Just some teenage problems."

"Oh, but puberty doesn't look like that, Dear." She crooks her head to the side with a welcoming smile.

"I never said It was puberty.." I look at her with zero amusement.

"Ah, well. I came here to ask you for some help." She pouts and her wrinkles become more noticeable.

I casually breathe in. "I'm available." I push my hands in my pockets and walk out to the streets with her, closing the door behind me.

"Wow.. You're looking pretty stiff today, got into a fight?" She laughs.

"Yeah.. something like that." I roll my eyes without being noticed.

"You know Stirly.. my cat.." She mentions in anticipation. I nod with a confused look.

"She hasn't appeared in two days, and I'm getting more than worried about her. I was thinking If you could help find her, because Carl doesn't want to. He has troubles with Stirl, you see.."

"Uh-huh.." I think to myself. "So you want me to find your cat, which is momentarily lost, even though cats tend to leave their houses every once in a while?"

"Umm.. yes" She confirms with a bright smile and I can't tempt myself to throw any more backlash at her.

"Do you remember the last time you saw her, where she was at?"

"Oh, no sweetie." She shakes her head in an uneasy distraught. "I saw her the other night after I gave her food in the garden. The other day she was completely gone."

I mean, If this cat really doesn't come back, we're gonna have some real fuckin' problems. Not just that, but If I find It, and It's not alive, god am I going to want to kill myself.
