(Drakes pov)

My wolf whined anxiously, upset that our mate was distressed.

(Lick her face. That will make her feel better.)

<I can't just walk up to her and lick her face. Are you crazy!>

(It will work. Trust me.)

<You are trying to get us hit. She all ready thinks we are nuts.>

(Why does she think that? How come her wolf doesn't recognize us?)

<I don't know. If you would shut up for a moment maybe I could find out.>

He huffed in exasperation but grew silent.

She stared at me expectantly and I couldn't help but to take a minute to admire her beauty once again. The urge to touch her was almost impossible to resist.

"I promise we won't hurt you. My name is Drake. I am the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack."

(Tell her she is our mate!)

<Shut up stupid! We don't want to scare her away!>

"You are currently in the pack house. Nate brought you here after you fainted."

I stuck my hand out slowly for her to shake (sneaky of me I know but I just had to somehow touch her) and she cautiously shook it. I had to bite back a moan of pleasure when our skin met. She gasped, clearly feeling the same thing that I was even if she didn't understand why. She slowly removed her hand from mine and my wolf growled with displeasure at no longer being able to feel her.

I continued. " Look, why don't we go see your aunt and uncle and perhaps we can get some answers."

"We can't. I got a message on my cell this morning saying that they were going to be gone for a week and reminding me to take my... oh hell... Nate, did you bring my purse?"

He gave her a confused look but retrieved it from beside the bed and handed it to her. She dug through it for a moment before producing an unmarked pill bottle from which she shook out a single pill.

"Almost forgot to take this."

I suddenly caught the scent of wolfsbane and grabbed her hand, preventing her from taking it.

"Where did you get this?" I said, snatching it from her hand and examining it with a frown.

"I have been taking these for as long as I can remember. My aunt and uncle told me that they were vitamins. I never questioned them since I have been on them since I was a kid. They always insisted and it seemed easier to go along with them then argue. That, and when I went away to college I had to come home for one weekend a month and stay with them."

Everything was starting to make sense on why it seemed like she hadn't shifted yet. It wasn't that she had never shifted... it was that she didn't remember. Her aunt and uncle were using the wolfsbane to keep her wolf quiet and from randomly coming out. They must have let her out for a limited time during those visits and prevented Cass from remembering. Before Cass had left for college they could have done it at anytime without her knowing. The question was... Why?

I made a quick decision. If I could keep her from taking the damn pill by the end of the day her wolf would regain her voice and the ability to come out. Once she did she would recognize me as her mate and we would live happily ever after. My wolf wagged his tail in approval.

"Listen, Cass. I am not entirely sure why but Andrew and Jessica have been giving these to you to keep your wolf at bay. I don't know what the purpose is but it isn't right. Here is what I propose. Stay here with us tonight and I can prove all of this to you. What have you got to lose?"

(Cass pov)

I pondered on his words. While I was still in shock that where wolves did exist I had to admit that all of this was intriguing to me.

"What about work?"

"The rest of your week will be rescheduled."

"I can't miss the rest of the week! I just started!"

"Think of it this way. All of your clients are going to be from the supernatural community. How can you help them if you know nothing of our ways?"

My eyes widened. None of them were going to be human? Hmmmm.... I wonder what Barbie Doll was... Focus Cass! He did have a point. At the very least I should learn about the people I was dealing with since I was pretty sure that their problems would be going beyond a normal humans. If I was honest with myself, spending more time with Drake was appealing as well. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"I accept."
