The small mud colored wolf cocked her head to the side as she tried to process what she just heard.
The mutt bitch was royalty? Hidden royalty? Oh the possibilities....
She krept back into the woods silently, not wanting to alert those inside to her presence. This was her way to a good life. She was sure that someone would pay very well for what she just heard. She tried to keep from laughing out loud. This was too perfect. She would have untold riches and the bitch would be gone. Maybe she would even be rewarded with a place amongst the royalty....oh the possibilities were endless. She quickly shifted and pulled on her clothes. She emerged and jogged to the pack house and went up to her room.
But who to go to first? Her father or her mothers enraged husband? What paid more... the need to protect or the need for revenge? Perhaps she could play one side against the other and reap the rewards of both. She would need to take a picture of the bitch as proof. She had a lot of planning to do...

Cass and Drake sat in stunned silence. Cass wondering if she would ever meet her father, Drake panicking inside wondering how he was going to protect her. Nobody could know who she really was. It would be too dangerous. His mind suddenly flashed back to a conversation with Nate. What had he been trying to tell him that day? Did he know who she was?
He needed to find out... and soon. Cass was his mate and he would allow nobody to take her from him. Not even her royal family. For a brief moment he wondered if he was good enough for her considering her liniage. His wolf growled at that thought. He was right. Fate decreed that she was supposed to be his. She needed him now more then ever. He would fight to the death for her if need be.
He would keep her safe.
