Hah...hey guys. It's a me! So, my mental health has been a bit...wack recently. If I don't update for a couple days that's why. I'm pushing myself to write this chapter because I can't just keep on laying in bed staring at the ceiling. So yeah, if it sucks that's why. Reminder that you never have to go through anything alone! Woohoo, now that that weird authors note is over, enjoy the chapter :P.

She sat outside the bathroom as he threw up, he didn't realize it. Eva was supposed to be asleep, but she'd have nightmares when she did.

"Hey! Look, it's okay. YOU can fix it!" Neil stuttered as he coughed up blood.

"I-"

"You can fix it!" he started crying tears of blood as the steady heart monitor in the background slowed.

"I can't fix it!" She broke down crying, reaching out to hug him, but she went right through him as a long beep came from the background.

He started coughing, and he finally just laid on the cold and hard tile on the floor of the bathroom. She heard him breathing heavily, until he threw his fists onto the floor and winced.

"Neil...?" she slowly poked her head out from behind the wall. She saw his once curious green eyes filled with tears.

He laughed softly, "H-hey Eves."

She knelt down beside him, "want some help?" Just a few weeks ago this would've been the stupidest question to ask him. He'd never accept her help, and since her brain was so hardwired this way it almost shocked her when their hands touched.

"Yeah, thanks," he gave her a sad smile.

He whimpered as they stood, squeezing her hand tight.

"It's okay," she hugged him, and after a second he hugged her back.

"Yeah..." he laughed.

"Want to get some coffee?"

"Of course."

They walked into the kitchen and Eva grabbed two mugs.

"Y'know, some doctors think it's unhealthy to drink coffee at three in the morning," he smirked with his remark.

"Who are you to know what's healthy, you moron," she lightly shoved him and smiled.

The coffee machine started whirring and pouring out coffee, and it started on Neil's as Eva got out some sugar. She usually only drank coffee for the caffeine, because she hated the taste. Usually she'd add a bunch of milk or sugar to it to make it less bitter. However with Neil, the more bitter the better. She never asked him for coffee on missions anymore, because it was just too strong. Before he picked up the plain white mug, she noticed his hands shaking. She wrote it off and put some sugar cubes in her coffee.

She was startled by the sound of the cup shattering.

"Shit- fucking- dammit," she saw him kneel on the ground and attempting to clean up the ceramic pieces, cutting his hand in the process, "Fuck-"

"Hey, don't worry about it, I'll get it," she went to her cleaning closet and grabbed her handheld vacuum, then she quickly vacuumed up the pieces. She grabbed a paper towel and wiped up the coffee. She looked up at Neil, who had the most guilty looking look she'd ever seen.

"I should've known better," he muttered as he clenched his hands into fists in attempts to getting them to stop shaking.

"Seriously, don't worry about it," she put her hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him. He silently nodded, "Neil, talk to me."

It wasn't like her to make such a demanding statement to him. She'd usually just give him all the options she could, but now she needed him to talk. She couldn't let him go back to isolating himself, hoping that no one would ever really know who he was.

"It's nothing, Eves. I just should have known better. Besides, I probably shouldn't be drinking coffee this late anyways," he smiled at her.

"Are you sure that's all?"

"Yeah. You should get some sleep, you're going into work tomorrow."

"Yeah, I should," she laughed. "But you better be back soon, because there's no way I'm going to be able to work with any other technician."

"Eh, you're not picky."

"What's that supposed to mean?" she asked.

"Well, you're still friends with me! The great, lovable, AWESOME, mess that is Neil Watts."

"Well it's a good thing that I am," she lauged, and in a sleep deprived daze she kissed him on the cheek, "night, Neil."

His entire face was red, "Night, Eves."
