My heart was pounding hard in my chest as I swiftly turned away and stomped off. Why would he say all that in front of everybody? Did I really piss him off that much that he had to utter those words? I didn’t know where I was going; I just wanted to get away from him.

About a mile away from the school, I replayed the entire thing back in my head. Oh shit, I just broke up with Bar. OMFG. I stopped in my tracks. Bar and I were over? Over Cassie’s stupid ass? Dear God, what have I done? Maybe Cassie was just getting to me again. Crap. For all I know, they probably didn’t even do anything. Bar wouldn’t cheat on me. He’s been faithful for the past year. We’re the cutest couple at school.

“Tes!”

A Jeep pulled up to the curb. Kaye jumped out with the rest of my pack. Kaye’s arms were immediately around me, “Jill told me everything! I can’t believe it.”

“Well, believe it ‘cause this can’t be reversed.”

“I think you were overreacting back there, Tes. It was just a hug.” Wes muttered, “That’s why guys break up with Jill all the time. She’s so clingy and the jealous type.”

“I’m the I’ll-break-your-face-in-bitch-if-you-even-look-at-my-man type, douche-bag.” Jill retorted.

“He doesn’t deserve you.” A deep voice proclaimed.

“Reid?” I gawked, staring as Reid stepped out, hands in his pockets from the field. He sent a gorgeous smile at Jill and Kaye and gave a guy handshake to the boys.

“As I repeat, he doesn’t deserve you. I’m glad you guys broke up.”

My blood boiled, “You’re just jealous! Just because you have to marry me doesn’t mean you can decide who I can go out with or not.”

Reid raised an eyebrow, “Did you think about what you were about to say before you said it?”

“Shut up!” I snarled, “The Unification isn’t till the thirty-first, you have no right to state your opinion in my relationship. Bar and I are not over.”

Reid’s face turned stern, “That’s total BS. You’re only getting back together to get back at me! You’re not doing it because you love him or not.”

Say what?

“I do love him! How dare you say that I don’t?”

“That’s bullshit.” Reid growled.

“You’re bullshit!”

“Guys, let it go!” Jaz snapped, “Geez, Reid you don’t have to worry about Tessa until the Unification! And Tessa, stop publicizing your relationship!”

Reid shrugged. My pack went back into the Jeep, Kaye keeping the backseat door open for me. Reid stepped beside me and leaned in close, “I promise you, you’ll make a big mistake if you go back to him.”

I intake a deep breath and Reid chuckled, sauntering away. Why was he so cocky?

My hand rose to slap him but when I turned around, he was gone. Freaking douchebag. I crawled into the car, squeezing between Ty, Kaye and Jill. Jaz and Wes were in the front.

I rested my head on Kaye’s shoulder, “Life sucks.”

“You must be so stressed, Tes,” Kaye murmured, “Go home and eat some desserts. You know why?”
