A sputtering flame billowing in my mind indignantly hisses like an agitated feline as incendiary fuel perniciously cascades towards the waggling wisp of vermillion without a second thought. Todoroki ignited this ravenous flame upon embarking on his voyage of enrollment in U.A., and my memories of him have been steadily nourishing what was once a mere ember flickering between life and death. Now, however, this flame is swirling up in brilliant bursts of tangerine.
Oh, there you are, you asshole, I think with contempt biting into my thoughts as I realize that Todoroki is walking towards me. You thought you could just run away, didja? I would've run after you when you first walked off like the pretentious piece of shit you are, but goddamn Kirishima thought he could win an arm wrestle with me. Hell was he wrong.
"Oh, yeah! Look, there's Todoroki," Kirishima chuckles, elbowing Kaminari. "Man, someone has to teach him to smile. Have you ever seen him smile, Kami?" Kaminari shakes his head in response to this.
In spite of the roaring vortex of hellfire consuming my mind, I muster up a vexing scowl in place of a deranged, deadpan expression. "Oi! The hell did you run off for?" My whisper of a snarl stupefies even me.
Appearing as though he departed to bury a corpse, Todoroki is the subject of no emotion. "My apologies. Midoriya and Yaoyorozu wished to converse with me," he explains aridly, glancing over at Kirishima and Kaminari.
"Now that Todoroki's with us, we should grab some snacks," Kaminari says with a chipper smile. "Those pancakes—oh, and bacon!—Bakugou made was tasty, but I'm hungry again."
Kirishima gently plants a kiss on Kaminari's forehead. "You're always hungry, Kami," he snickers. "Anyways, he's right!" He gestures for us to follow him to the large table laden with food for the party, but I swiftly push my way in front of him so that he follows behind me.
Todoroki lingers in the entropy of dubiety for a moment before following suit, and if he hadn't, I wouldn't have hesitated to drag him like I'd threatened to do prior to the party officially commencing.
Once we've all begun to crowd around the table and select various foods to load onto our plates, we remain nearby as Kirishima starts up a conversation with Todoroki. "How've you been, Todo? It's been forever since I've seen you!" Todoroki raises his brows inquisitively. "Sorry, I didn't really get the chance to talk to you yesterday."
Hmph. Why the hell have you given him a nickname? Doesn't look like you two are very close. Wait, remind me why I'm even thinking about this!
Shrugging, Todoroki takes a small bite out of the miniature sandwich in his hand. "Fine, I suppose." Sounds like a damn lie to me. "Ah, how have you been...Kiri?" The way Kirishima's nickname rolls off of his tongue warms my forehead and causes me to grit my teeth. And why are you giving him a nickname?
"But that's what I call you, Kiri!" Kaminari whines, a grin still plastered on his jovial mien. "I know we're still dating, but I've been thinking about taking our relationship—"
"I'd be more than happy to, Denki!" Kirishima interjects, now kissing his boyfriend on the lips. "Now that's what I call manly—when you aren't afraid to tell me whatcha think with an audience!"
Kaminari's face is mantled with splotches of pink, and he wastes no time to reciprocate the kiss. Once the two separate from their lengthy, sloppy embrace, they press their foreheads together. "I love you, Eijirou," Kaminari sighs softly with a jubilant tone. "Love ya, too, Denki," Kirishima follows up.
