Jon
The sky was dim when we finally landed on the outer parts of the frigid Free folk camp. The dragons had slid a bit farther, from the icy landing. Even though Dany said she was fine I could tell she was exhausted.
I scanned the surroundings while I made my way over to her, to assist her down from Drogon. The terrain was vast and white, now here scanning these parts, I know something is aloof with the winter creatures. It's not supposed to be this cold, this time of year.
Dany met my gaze and I assume she saw the worried look on my face because she asked if I was alright. I quickly reassured her and helped her off her dragon. While I was reassuring her, I heard heavy footsteps in the snow. The free folk were approaching, Tormund knew we were coming, I'd sent a raven when Ser Jorah told me of the spiders. I also informed him that some north men who witnessed the creatures would be headed his way as well. To regroup with he and his men so that we could get to the bottom of all this once I arrived.
"Aren't you a sight for sore eyes King Crow?!"
I smiled at my old friend and made my way towards him and his company of fur clad men. Who were staring at me with hard-questioning glares.
"Tormund, how is the North my friend?"
He chuckled. "The North is the same as it's always been, cold."
I grinned at his sarcastic response then he kneeled before me and my Queen.
"It's an honor to receive and host the King & Queen of the seven kingdoms."
Dany smiled her regal smile and signaled for him to arise.
"It's wonderful to see you once again Tormund Giantsbane. My King and I, are honored to be here amongst our friends, the Free Folk."
I grasped Dany's hand tighter, with pride at her kind statement. I watched as the hard glares from the company of fur clad free folk subsided and turned to proud faces. I also noticed a few of them staring a little to long for my linking at my Queen. Even though her affect on men bothers me, I have come to ignore it because Dany is my wife and my lover. Until the end of time, she is mine. And she needs to rest, I don't want any harm coming to her especially in her condition. Now that formalities were over I got to the point.
"Tormund my friend. Would you please escort The Queen and I to our tent? For we are tired and famished."
Tormund quickly nodded in agreement.
"Come lads lets escort our guests to their tents. Jaw-Bone go and make sure the women have sent fresh braised mountain goat sent to their tent along with warm goats milk. And I'm sure the queen would enjoy some wild winter berries."A large man in grey pelts, who I assumed was Jaw Bone ran with haste to make sure all was prepared for Dany and I. We walked through the camp and all colors of eyes gawked at us capriciously. It was extremely awkward and I tried my best to assure Dany that our stay here would be safe by holding on to hand tightly. We both kept our regal façade and smiled at children along with a few women who commented on their Queen & King's beauty.
This experience brought memories to my mind. When I was brought by Ygritte and the lord of bones as a captive to see Mance Rader. Except this time no one spit on me, hit or beat me and no one threw foreign objects. I'm glad things were smooth because if anyone so much as spoke an ill word of Dany. I'd swing Longclaw and end their very existence.
We came to a halt and Tormund pointed to a large pelt tent.
"Here is your tent, your meal should be here shortly. I believe it's still cooking. Tomorrow there will be no meal ready for you, if you both need anything you will have to fetch it yourself. Here in the true North, there are no personal guards or servants to call on. You want something get up and get it. I'm sure King Crow will be more than obliged to assist you my Queen."
