"Gah!" Tony woke up in his sleep. His hands were trembling and he was sweating all over. There was a look of fear in his face as he remembered the events last night.

Please be a dream...Please be a dream...

Tony clasped his hands before he left his room. When he entered the lobby, everyone was there, and they looked...sad for some reason.

"Where's Stephen?" Tony asked as he was still catching his breath. Bucky looked at him with a frown, making Tony pale.

No...

"He just left, and you missed it" Bucky said as Tony clenched his fists. He wanted to run to him so badly, but Pepper was standing there. He clenched his fists as he knew he had to restrain himself.

where all the words that he could say. He started to leave the lobby, making everyone silent.

"Tony didn't even had the chance to say goodbye, its sad" Sam said with a frown as Bucky sadly nodded.

"I know"

Tony decided to grab a beer from the kitchen as he heard a familiar voice.

"Are you still in love with him?"

Tony turned around to see Rhodes, he was crossing his arms and he had an unpleased expression. Tony stood in silence as Rhodes started to get furious.

"But you're engaged! You have a fiancé!" Rhodes yelled as Tony gripped his hair in frustration.

"I know!" Tony yelled as Rhodes became even more angrier.

"Then stop with your nonsense!" He gripped Tony's shirt, ready to punch him. Tony pushed him as he fell on the ground.

"Im trying for God's sake!" Tony yelled in anger as he restrained himself from punching Rhodes, so he punched the counter instead, making the bruises show on his knuckles.

"I won't break an engagement just because Im in love with someone else!" Tony raised his voice, making Rhodes silent. There was a tense and awkward atmosphere until Tony sighed, showing that he has calmed down.

"He's gone...a-and I'm marrying Pepper. End of discussion" Tony said with a frown as he left the kitchen. He headed towards his room and laid on the bed, sighing as he lost the person that he's been longing for the most.

"God, I hate this world" Tony sighed as he raised his hand and stared at it, wondering why his luck was so bad these days.

"And so do I"

Wait a minute.

"Long time no see...Tony"

He turned around to see a familiar figure at the door, smiling as she walked near him.

"Christine?"

Tony had a shocked expression on his face. He wasn't expecting anyone to talk to him at this time, let alone Stephen's ex.

"Want to know how this world was too cruel for me?" Christine smirked, making me confused.

"Let's just say. I lost the people I deeply loved" She looked at the sky and sighed.

"Im so sorry that you and Stephen had to break up-"

"Its not him. It was never him in the first place" She sighed as I was in shock.

So if it wasn't him...then who is it?

"Then who is it?" Tony asked as confusion was starting to hit him. She looked at Tony and once again, she smiled, but this time, she looked miserable.

"Let's just say that it was a close friend of mine since childhood, and lets say, that person already had someone special in her life" Christine said as Tony was speechless.

"Then-"

"You know my secret too well...and yet you're acting clueless" She stared at Tony as he clenched his hand.

"I- I" Tony stuttered as Christine patted his shoulder. A wave of pain showing in her face and Tony felt guilty. He cannot comfort her because he was the reason of her suffering.

Because the person that she loved with all her heart, the one that she cherished the most...

...was none other than Pepper

"Hey Tony, take care of her will you?" She sadly smiled as Tony felt a wave of guilt coming over him.

"She deserves to know" Tony stared at Christine as she shaked her head.

"Don't bother, It wouldn't even matter to her anyways" she tried to stop him but Tony was too stubborn. He grabbed his phone and started calling Pepper.

"Meet me at the room" he said on the phone and hung up, leaving a shocked Christine.

"I dearly hope that you'd be more honest with your feelings for her. Don't hide it for too long, I know it hurts" Tony hugged Christine and with that, her eyes started to become teary. After parting from the hug, he patted her shoulder and wished her goodluck before leaving her alone in the room, anxious about how Pepper will react at her confession.
