Chapter Eighteen

Zoe's POV

I didn't feel like walking into school with Percy today, I much rather walking with Annabeth and Piper. 

I then realised, Percy would obviously be annoyed with me if he saw me with them. So I went, as soon as I realised, to Drew.

She was standing outside her classroom, on her phone. 

"Hey!" I said, as cheerful as I could muster.

She looked up from her phone, gaped at me for the smallest fraction of a second, and then composed herself in a much more 'innocent' way. 

"Uh, what up?" She asked, obviously confused.

"I was just asking, I saw Percy with you the other day in his car..."

Her eyes seemed panicked. She was obviously thinking of the time I did actually see them. 

"Well, you two were just sitting there, on the way to Percy's place, I think. I'm just asking, what were you guys doing?"

She spluttered for a second.

"I'm not accusing you of anything, I have complete faith in Percy that he wouldn't do the to me, he's so sweet, right? Anyway, I was just asking, were you tutoring him or something...? Or do you guys have an assignment together...?"

She smiled and said, "Yep! You got it! I'm just tutoring him for- uhh... for- umm... geography!"

I smiled at her. "Thanks."

*RIGHT NOW*

I'm on my way to class. 

I have History.

Its so boring.

Next I have Maths.

It's alright.

The day goes by slowly.

But  by the end of the day I smile. One day closer to Prom.

Annabeth's POV

I sighed, a new school week, great.

Pulling myself up, I grabbed a T-shirt and jeans. After I was changed I headed out, as I was meeting Piper and Zoe to walk to school.

We had decided to meet at a local Starbucks, so we could get breakfast as well. I had gotten there a bit early, so I ordered a Vanilla Latte.

Piper soon walked in and then we both ordered some food.

"So, how's things going?" I ask, trying to make conversation. Piper could tell I meant with Jason; how was things going with Jason. Piper had told me a disturbing story about Jason from when her and Zoe had gone shopping. I was so shocked when she told me, I was stunned when I found out. It just proves that Jason has changed so, so much!

"He hasn't texted me in a while." She replied, obviously upset about the matter.
"Why do you seem sad?" I ask. "I mean, don't you want him to leave you alone?"

Piper rolled her eyes. "Of course I'm glad he's leaving me alone! But I can't help but think what things would've been like if we hadn't broken up!"

"What do you mean!?"I say, trying to keep my voice down. It sounded like she meant that it was my fault and I overreacted or something.
"Oh, I'm sorry! Annabeth, that's not what I meant." Piper said, trying to rephrase her word choices. "What I mean was, Percy really messed up our group. He's a real ass-hole and he's ruined everyone's lives!" Piper scoffed. "If he thinks his fatal flaw is loyalty, then he doesn't know a thing! Because he's been everything but loyal to literally everybody I know!"

"Piper, calm down, please!" I begged. Finally, Piper's rage seemed to have come to an end. Just in time for Zoe to make it.

She put her bag on a chair by our table and went to get her breakfast.

We talked for a bit after before heading to school. Piper told us that the two week rush starts today. I smiled and thought it over in my head. Yep, she was right, two weeks from now on Friday, was the dance.

We started to walk to school not long after, and believe it or not, we still had a decent about of time left, about 15 mins.
Just as Piper was telling us we should head of to our classrooms, Zoe spotted Percy, made a face at us, and hurried away to him. I have no idea what excuse she would make up, but gods, let's hope that she'll be okay.

DURING CLASS

Mr Fall walked into the classroom speaking Spanish.
Percy told him it was Greek class.
And guess what? He thanked Percy for telling him!
Of course, by now he was starting to realise that Reyna, Percy, Piper and I, had learnt to pick up the language quite quickly, so we had some more challenging work.
By the end of class, Piper and I had actually done something productive!
But that wasn't what I was thinking, what I was thinking, was that Percy had to smile when he saw Julie. Not a genuine smile obviously, but it looked like he was forced to do it. And throughout the entire lesson, Julie's seemed to think she had some right to Percy. There was just a change in atmosphere around them.

Anyway, later that day, Calypso and Juniper both cancelled our hang out due to a meeting in garden club, and Selena couldn't make it so we had to cancel.

THE NEXT DAY

Piper, Rachel, Reyna and I talked about questioning Julie. It wasn't as if she wouldn't tell us, Piper said even if she refused, she could just chat speak her anyway.

But the real question was, is it worth knowing?

I mean,with the whole plan and all, we really didn't want distractions, but then again, it could be valuable information...
