Hi.
I just wanted to say a brief thank you to all of those who have enjoyed this story. It literally makes my day to see comments saying that. It's even good to see comments nagging me to update, because (YES I KNOW I NEED TO UPDATE), and it is really nice to see that people actually want to read it.
Secondly, I'm feeling nostalgic, because I know that the story is gonna end soon (I estimated no more than 70 parts) and all I can think about is how it all started off.
SO THANK YOU SO MUCH
And happy reading!!!!

PERCY POV

I blinked.

Yes. She was still there.

I blinked again. Yes. Still there.

I blinked twice more. She was gone. Well, I still heard her, I just couldn't exactly see her from behind the empousai she was fighting. Which reminded me; there were three empousai approaching me with very deadly looks.

I think I should probably get out of this chair...

I wriggled and pulled at the ropes, but it was no use. I was stuck. Well. I guess I'm gonna die. But to be fair, me being the one who has been in a lot of different situations, that I'm-gonna-die feeling happens quite often.

Still, I wasn't going to stop hoping for a miracle, since those are the things that usually save me. Miracles and Annabeth.

Before I could take a last glance at Annabeth, three silver arrows with celestial bronze tips embedded themselves into the necks, throats, or chests of the three empousai that were approaching me.

"Hey Kelp Head."

I looked up, to see that the lights had turned on, without me seeming to notice. Crouching on one of the beams that were crisscrossed on the roof was Thalia. She had her bow nocked with more arrows.

"You are an idiot, you know that, right?" She told me.

I swallowed. "I'm aware."

She sighed, "We'll talk later. Right now, our job is to save your butt, and unfortunately, that means not killing you out of annoyance."

I'm not gonna lie, I had missed Thalia.

Suddenly, I felt a freezing hand untie my ropes. I didn't bother to look who'd done it. I wanted to raced towards Annabeth, desperately wishing to fight by her side. But I was swarmed with empousai before I even made it halfway to her. But if there was one thing I knew how to do, it was fight. I pulled out Riptide and began to slash at the empousai.

When I had turned them all to dust, I scanned for Annabeth. She was fighting.

"Percy!"

I turned behind me and saw Nico. What? I gestured, confused at why he was trying to communicate with me in the heat of a battle.

"We need to get you out'a here!" He yelled back, approaching quickly and grabbing at my arm.

I shook my head, but before I could stop him I was enveloped into darkness.

ANNABETH'S POV

Our plan was going perfectly. The only problem was that I was getting swarmed by Empousai. And it wasn't fun. Kelli was by far the best fighter out of them, and I had to constantly keep one eye on her.

Seven.

Seven empousi dressed like cheerleaders were swarming me. I gritted my teeth and sliced my bone sword behind me, horizontally. Three voices of pain cried out, and I smiled.
Change that to four.

Then, according to plan, I saw Nico shadow travel him out. As long as he was safe, I was happy. That was the whole purpose of this thing anyways.

I sighed a breath of relief when Thalia fired an arrow down at the empousa that had me cornered. She collapsed at my feet and I jumped over her.

Finally, just as I felt my energy wearing low, I saw Piper come in. She was a bit late, but it was useful. She took on the two extra empousai, while I took on Kelli.

My sword gleamed in the light, so did Kelli's. She charged at me, I dodged with my usual speed, but Kelli was fastrt than I remembered; she immediately turned around and charged again, giving me no time for recovery. I raised up my sword in defense, and caught her's just before she sliced my face in two.

I pushed back against her, our blades making an ear-drum popping noise. Kelli sliced at my feet, I jumped, and immediately brought my sword down on her head, she dodged, but it was late, I managed to get a long deep cut down the side of her face. She shrieked in frustration and pain. I took that moment to pouce, and Kelli didn't know what was happening before my sword had stabbed her in the gut.

I sighed as her dust fell at my feet.

Then I remembered. I ran out of the warehouse Mrs O'leary had lead us to. Thalia was behind me, and Piper was close in trail.

Then I saw him. I couldn't help myself; I ran at him, full speed and three my arms around his neck. I breathed in the sent of him. I felt him holding me. I closed my eyes and thanked all the gods who let us be reunited.

15 minutes Later

The demigods were tired, to say the least, and Mrs O'leary was not up for a shadow travel to camp. They decided they would start walking, and when nightfall came, and Mrs O'leary had enough energy, they would all shadow travel.

Annabeth looked as Percy made to climb onto Blackjack.

"Don't. " She told him, crossing her arms.

"What?" Percy asked her.

"Don't." She repeated. "I-I can ride on Blackjack, but you're not allowed on him. Not when you might leave again."

Percy looked like he might protest, but just closed his mouth and nodded. He seemed to think that that was the best idea as well.

He walked over to Mrs O'leary.

The wind was strong this evening, and Annabeth was cold.

She shivered, and pulled Percy's jacket from his apartment around her. She thought of Sally, how worried Sally would be. Well, the first place she would need to go once they got back to camp was Sally's. After all, she deserved to know what happened.

Annabeth climbed onto Blackjack.
"Time to go Buddy."
