Abiah twirled her pencil around her fingers, trying to figure out how to word her essay about the book they were reading, when her phone buzzed in her lap.
"Oh my gosh," she whispered, getting ready to pack her things up.
"Abiah, where are you going?" Ms. Estella, the youngest teacher in the school, asked. Abiah quickly pulled her stuff into her bag, but started to feel slightly nauseous from the heat of her cardigan and moving around.
"My dad is coming to get me. My mom is in the hospital," Abiah answered, continuing to pack up.
"Well, wait for them to call you out," she said. Abiah rolled hers and continued to pack her bag and sat it in her seat.
"Can I go to the bathroom, then?" She asked, not really asking. The teacher sighed and looked at her pupil with a side eye.
"Is it an emergency?"
"Is it alway an emergency. I'm pregnant," Abiah replied, handing her pass book to her teacher to sign. Reluctantly, the teacher gave the teen an out and shook her head.
"Is that your excuse for everything?" She asked, handing the book. With a smirk, Abiah ran her freshly manicured hand over the bump through her camisole.
"It so valid, though. One day, you'll understand," she chuckled, leaving the classroom and heading to the bathroom. While walking, she ran into someone, accidentally bumping their shoulder. "Oops, my bad," she smiled, looking up to see a tall brunette boy looking down at her.
"No, it was my fault. Hold up, Abiah Murillo?" He smiled, holding his arm out to stop her, accidentally grazing her bump with his hand.
"Yeah," she simply replied.
"It's me, Mateo..." he said. Abiah stared at him, still confused. "We met at the beginning of the school year party," he elaborated. Abiah scratched her hand then folded her arms over her chest.
"Yeah... I was faded that night. I barely remember...never mind," she blushed. "Did we....you know?" She asked, knowing she's made out with a lot of guys when she was lit. Mateo smiled and shook his head.
"Uhh, nope," he answered. "You really don't remember me?" He chuckled. Abiah forced a smile and shook her head.
"No, I'm sorry. I don't," she answered. Mateo shrugged and started to walk past her. "Wait, you're not going to tell me where I know you from?" Mateo shook his head, pulled out his phone and snapped a picture of her, then pointed to her phone. The confused momma opened her Snapchat to see a picture of herself confused with a caption. 'Take A Guess, Princess'. A small smile came to Abiah's face as she closed her phone and moved towards the bathroom.
