Chapter 5

Maddy's POV

It was mostly dark as we turned into a house lined street. Amy, dr jones and even Jaz have fallen asleep. Vira looks still wide awake as she drives along the street. Me, I'm tired, but not tired enough to go to sleep yet.

Vira looks somewhat anxious as she looks around the street looking for her family's house I'm guessing.

"There!" She mumbles happily and parks outside a nice single story house, with light brown bricks and dark chocolate brown tiles on the roof.

"Hm. Nice house." I say.

"I suppose it is. Too many stories about this neighbourhood though." She says as we open the car doors.

"The others?" I ask. Vira shrugs. Helpful.

"Wake em up." She says and I punch Jaz in the shoulder. She opens her eyes. She shakes her head and rolls her eyes.

"You started it." I muttered.

"When we were seven yeah." She says. Vira gives us a questioning look.

"Nevermind." I mutter. Jaz shakes dr jones and Amy awake before hopping out of the car sleepily. When we're all out of the car, Vira locks it and leads the way to the front door.
She knocks a few times.

The door is opened by a guy who looks about, maybe, twenty five? Twenty six?

"Vira." The guy says.

"I know. I know Jason. I know. You told me. I didn't listen, but I have news." she says anxiously. The others and I just stand back and watch uncomfortably.
He sighs.

"Fine come in. You say what you have to tell me while your companions are there." He says glancing at us. He steps aside and allows us to walk inside. Vira goes to a small comfy little lounge room with brown leather couches and chairs strewn around the place. We all take seats in the couches and chairs and leave an armchair for Jason.
I'm on the side next to Jaz while Amy is on an armchair, dr jones is next to Jaz and Vira is on another armchair next to the armchair Jason is on.

"Vira, what is happening?" Jason asks calmly and quietly.

"World war three. Gary has began his conquest to take over the world and rule it. Everyone who stands in his way is either punished, killed or taken away. That's all I know. I was his lieutenant but he never trusted me entirely." Vira explains. Jason doesn't look convinced.

"It's true." Amy taps him and mouthes. Jason looks confused.

"It's true." Jaz repeats.

"I'm his sister."

"She's his sister."

"That's all anyone knows. He trusted me and that's exactly what he told me."

Jason nods.

"Ok. I believe you. Why are you here?" Jason asks.

"Because we want to start a rebellion." Vira says. Because that totally explains everything.

"So? What do I have to do with a rebellion?" He asks. Oh my god even I get it now. Wow.

"We want you to join the rebellion and help us take down Gary." Vira explains.

"You need another nerd don't you?" Jason asks glancing quickly at dr jones.

"Well..."
