Wooyoung's eyes widen immediately after the words leave Seonghwa's mouth. Soojung and Yeosang only stand frozen in confusion, unaware of what's causing Wooyoung to be so shocked. "No! These siblings just needed somewhere to stay so we let them just for a day."
Seonghwa's face lights up as he turns back to the twins. "Are you guys new here? If you need somewhere cheap to stay, I like to offer accommodation to students and I actually have exactly enough room for two more people! It's considerably cheaper than anywhere else." Yeosang smiles sadly. "I'm sorry, we actually have no money. I think we're going to have to find a job soon and after that I'll consider your offer"
Soojung agrees with her brother's words with a small nod, before they both turn to retreat into their designated bedroom. However, they are interrupted yet again with a deep, hoarse voice.
"You can work for us." Soojung's eyes rapidly follow the voice, revealing a smirky San with messy hair and dishelved clothing. He continues, "Our only staff are Wooyoung and I, and I have to admit it gets quite hard sometimes" She glances at Wooyoung only to find him thoughtfully nodding in agreement. She looks back to San and notices that his eyes have been stuck on her and her only the whole time.
"You could live with me and start paying once you've made enough at Wooyoung and San's store, I honestly don't mind! They're close friends of mine anyway" Seonghwa warmly suggests. Yeosang clears his throat to cut the tension after taking about a minute to consider before finally announcing his conclusion.
"Fine. When do we start?" He lets out a sigh of defeat, realising that the twins really don't have much of an option if they want to make money fast. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
"I'll let you guys rest up for two more days, and then straight to work" San orders, staring directly into Soojung's eyes. He tries to convey a certain emotion through his gaze alone but she doesn't seem to understand it, just as expected. He slightly shakes his head, much to the poor angel's confusion, before retreating back into his room.
"You can bring any stuff over tomorrow, and you can move in as soon as everything's settled" Seonghwa beams at the twins, with a surprising amount of energy. "Thank you so much for the offer, my sister and I will make sure to not be a nuisance to you." Yeosang rigidly expresses his gratitude, before awkwardly walking away into the room too. Soojung doesn't understand what would be the most appropriate thing to say in this situation, so she just mumbles "Thanks", and also follows her brother.
"They're an odd pair, aren't they?" Wooyoung whispers to Seonghwa as soon as he sees that the bedroom doors have been completely shut. Seonghwa thoughtfully stares at their door before responding. "They sure are."
Soojung lies flat on her back on one of the single beds, staring at the ceiling. The matress feels firm yet relaxing beneath her, and she simply basks in the comfort for a few minutes. Yeosang organises the pile of clean clothes which were given to him by Wooyoung. He analyses the size and material of the clothes, leaving him impressed.
"This stuff is so soft. Look!" Her usually serious twin brother shoves the t-shirt in her arms with sparkling eyes. She lightly brushes her fingers over the black fabric of the t-shirt and her eyebrows raise in acknowledgement. "What do I have to change into?"
Yeosang flips through the clothes for a few seconds longer before finding a large sky blue t-shirt with plain black trousers. "What a lovely colour!" Soojung exclaims, gently grabbing the material for herself. "I agree. Now, you should go to the bathroom to change, I'll change in the room while you're occupying it." Yeosang shoos her to the bathroom in their room, but the innocent girl stands still with a puzzled look on her face, her grip on the clothes tightening slightly.
The boy sighs. "That room there, that's called the bathroom. It's used for humans to relieve themselves of any waste that builds up inside. It can also be used for washing up or in your case, changing clothes. It's a private area of sorts basically." Yeosang gives his sister a textbook definition of a bathroom, quite disappointed that she didn't even study enough to know this much. He can't help but feel worried about her. How will she cope in such a cruel world with such little knowledge?
Soojung shortly steps back out into the small bedroom wearing the oversized clothing given to her. The top drapes around about halfway down her thighs and the trousers prove to be way too long too. She waddles out with the bottoms dragging beneath her feet, earning a chesty laugh from Yeosang.
"What's so funny?" Her cheeks tinge pink while she stares at him dead in the eye. Yeosang continues to laugh while making his way to her. He crouches down at her feet, and proceeds to roll up the trousers from the bottom. "If something's too big for you, please don't go around looking like that. Roll up the bottom if you really have to" he genuinely advises while still stifling a giggle.
Soojung continues to stare at the ceiling where she left off a couple of minutes ago, now experiencing a new form of comfort. The soft, warm fabric left a foreign feeling on her torso and she had never felt so calm. A faint scent was wafting off of her top, and it felt so familiar to her but she was too tired to think too hard about it. So much had happened that day, all she wanted to do was rest. She envelopes herself in the thick blanket, snuggling up to the fluffy texture. A smile escapes her lips unconsciously from the pure bliss she was experiencing.
Just as her eyes were gradually closing over, Yeosang's soft whisper echoes through the room. "Soojung, I know anyone can seem nice on the outside but that doesn't neccessarily mean they have good intentions. I have read horrible, horrible things in some of the books up at home and I'd never want anything like that to happen to you. Please watch who you trust. Stay cautious of San, he's already giving off warning signs for me." He warns.
Soojung quietly hums in agreement with her eyes shut, about to drift off into a restful slumber. He's being too overprotective again, she secretly thinks.
San wouldn't have bad intentions, right?
