San rocks back and forth in the corner of his room. He's all alone.
He's been abandoned.
Wooyoung didn't come home the previous night, and San stayed up the entire night awake, tormented by his own thoughts.
The voices came back.
No, he's not going crazy and no, he isn't suffering from any mental illness.
The voices of hell chant in his head repeatedly, attempting to encourage him to sin once again.
"No!" He screams to them in his head. "I'm not doing that any more!"
"Come back to us...embrace what you were meant to be." deep voices growl back.
"Never! When I'm finished turning into a human, you can't stop me anymore! It's too late, I've changed." San bursts out into tears, growing sick of this torture. "You've changed? Is that so? Explain this then."
San suddenly stops rocking. His breathing quickens as he realises what's happening. His body starts moving on its own. He stands up and walks straight to the door, passing by the mirror. Staring into it, he notices the crimson swirl around in his eyes rapidly.
"You've become weak. What about your mission to spread negativity? Why do you want to willingly become a fragile little creature?" A symphony of voices shriek out in his head while his body continues to move forward slowly and involuntarily.
"I've given up on that mission, okay? I changed my mind and now I want to be an ordinary human."
"It's the girl, isn't it? That angel- She changed your mindset"
San's speeding mind come to a halt. The thought of Soojung makes his heart ache even more.
"You can't do anything right. Everyone left you. You deserve nothing but punishment."
San knows that the voices are right. He deserves the worst of the worst after causing so much harm to everyone in the past few years. A few months ago he would've never cared, but he's changed.
He knows he deserves severe punishment and he knows he doesn't deserve anyone's forgiveness. The only thing he's capable of feeling now is deep, deep regret.
Which is why he doesn't even fight back when steps off the railing from his balcony.

Wooyoung depressingly sulks back home. Seonghwa let everyone stay at his house for the night since it was late. Even though he's aware that San is a literal demon, Wooyoung still feels bad for him.He looked quite petrified last night so the first thing Wooyoung plans to do when he gets back home is to comfort the other. He hopes San really has changed. The look in his eyes the night before was undeniably guilt. Guilt so heavy that he knows San regrets most, if not all of his actions from the past four years.
Wooyoung looks forward to having a serious talk with him later. So much was revealed in just one night, he doesn't know how to truly feel. At ease? Disgusted? Impressed? All he knows is that at the moment he feels little to no emotion.
Or maybe he's feeling all too much at the same time, he can't really tell.
The colour from the world around him has been bleached, everything looking dull and monotone. He glides along the footpath, his consciousness being elsewhere.
That is until he approaches the apartment.
He sees an ambulance parked at the side of their apartment building with a small group of people gathered. Did someone get hurt?
He shrugs and keeps walking, hands in his pockets.
"Isn't that San?" He hears a woman's hushed voice in the background, and instantly stops walking. He doesn't even realise that he's hyperventilating as he instantly turns towards the crowd.
He shoves past people, earning himself a few curses but he doesn't care. As soon as he reaches the front, his mind stops. Everything stops.
The pool of blood at his feet gruesomely displays the reflection of the body beside it. Bile rises up in Wooyoung's throat but he can't move, his feet are glued into place. The only thing he can see is San's limp body twisted in unnatural ways, surrounded by the ruby liquid.
He stays fixed in place in front of the body, not even able to respond to the doctors who carry San away in a hurry and ask Wooyoung if he's related to him. He just stands and stares while his tears mix with the blood beneath him.
Just as the doctors give up and are about to leave, Wooyoung snaps awake again. His surroundings return once more and he finally speaks. "I'm his closest friend." he whimpers, and the doctor nods in response and ushers him into the ambulance too.

"He's gone now, it's okay" Yeosang comfortingly rests his hand on his sister's shoulder, who pets a kitten on her lap sadly. However, she feels the opposite of comfort. He's really gone. It's over.
If he's so horrible, why can't she stop thinking about him? Why isn't she happy that she'll never have to see San again? Everyone else seems just fine, so why can't she accept it even though she's the one who lashed out at him?
She tries to convince herself. "You're right, things will be better now. He was a horrible person to me."
But was he really? San was never anything less than loving and sweet to the girl.
"He's always been bad by nature. There's no way a demon can be good." She further develops.
But didn't he say he changed? Even the people around him mentioned that he's gotten better.
Why do I still keep trying to see the good in him? I don't like him anymore, he broke my trust.
"Then why are you so upset?" Yeosang asks softly. "I'm just unhappy that he kept such a big secret from me this whole time." She tries to justify herself.
But didn't I keep a huge secret from him too?
Soojung lets out a frustrated scream, catching Yeosang off guard. "Is everything okay?" he asks, growing increasingly worried. "I should hate him, shouldn't I?" she grumbles, half rhetorically. When Yeosang hesitantly nods, she feels even more conflicted.
The sudden sound of aggressive footsteps thumping up the stairs rapidly cause the twins to turn their head to their door in anticipation. Seonghwa throws the door open without holding back with a stressed expression on his face.
"San's in the hospital!"
