Explanation Time

For all the references that people didn't get and I want to elaborate on-

Ben got Mace Windu's lightsaber because Mace drew on both sides of the Force, which made his blade purple. Ben, like Mace, draws on both sides, so it's only natural that his crystal would call to him once Leia's had died.

Rey's lightsaber was Darth Maul's second lightsaber as depicted in Star Wars Rebels. He had a double blade which he lost on Tatooine once killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi (the second time 🙄). I wanted to introduce the healing of crystals into this book just as it was introduced into the Ahsoka novel, where she healed her crystals after the Sixth Brother had bled them. 

The artifacts within the Jedi Temple were Ahsoka's Padawan beads, a branch from the tree that grew outside the Jedi temple, and of course, Mace Windu's lightsaber.

Rey and Ben's wedding rings were made out of wood from Takodana, where they first met.

The scene in the World Between Worlds where Rey sees with the girl trekking the desert alone is Ahsoka Tano's first ever appearance in canon, in Star Wars the Clone Wars movie.

The scene for Ben in that chapter is the death of Kanan Jarrus.

That chapter also includes quotes from Star Wars the Clone Wars, the Kanan comics, and Star Wars Rebels.

Jacen is called JJ because of his initials Jacen Jarrus. I've already explained his features within the chapter.

Yes, I named Ezra and Sabine's daughter after Hera, because their own mothers were not present while they grew up (though Ezra's mom didn't have a choice, she was dead) and she was such a mother figure to them. Their home was the old radio tower that Ezra used to lived in.
