Chapter 1: Familiar name

I sit at the mentors desk and I watch as the stage turns black, the next performer. I look at the screen and their name pops up, (Y/n), I can't move, she's back? I look at San E and Rain, they're flustered too. Ever since she left Korea, she moved to Australia and started her career as a rock star. She has made a big name for herself.
I hear the audience gasp as the lights turn on, they reveal a girl with (H/L) (H/C) hair, she's wearing a hoodie with black jeans, nothing has changed. Her hairs the same and maybe her Korean has improved..?

She walks to the middle of the stage, we lock eyes for a second. I gasp, taken back when she looked at me, her eyes. They've stayed the same.

"Hello! I'm (Y/n)!" She shouts bowing, no cute introduction like the others, she has her own charms.

"Can I ask, why are you on an Idol Rebooting show?" Rain says smiling.

"Yes, you're internationally famous for all of the guitar work you do, heard you toured with a band called Polyphia." Hyuna says she seems interested.

I know the real reason, she knows I know.

"Well, I've always wanted to dance for a living, at school I majored in music and video production, I also taught little kids how to dance, but I've never danced on stage." She says, she looks done for a moment and smiles at us.

"Whenever you're ready." Rain says.

The music starts, everyone in the room recognises this song, it's hers. Her music doesn't usually have vocals, it's just guitar work, but this one... it's different...

I watch her performance, she's putting her all into it, I'm so proud of her, I have to boot her in.

Just as the music is about to stop, the stage turns rainbow colours and everyone stands and I see that she got the Super Boot.
The music stops and she stops, I stand up and run onto the stage and give her a hug, my microphone is rustling and everyone can hear it, "You did it."

"What did I do?" She asks, flustered and confused.

"You got the Super Boot, you're going though!" I exclaim letting her go and pointing to the wall behind her, I start crying as I see her cry.

She has a breakdown right in front of me, I remember this, she would have these moments in Highschool.

All of the mentors are laughing, "What's the relationship here, Taemin?" Rain asks smiling at us.

"I went to school with her for a bit, we became best friends, then she loved to Australia." I pay the tears away from my eyes, "I can't believe the first time I see you again is you on stage having a mental breakdown because of the Super Boot!"

She starts laughing, "That's not my fault."  He says, in between laughs.

"Sure is." I wipe her tears away and give her a hug. She returns it. I've missed this woman so much.

She's lucky she's the last performer of the night, Rain says the farewell to the crowd and they all leave. It's now (Y/n), myself and the mentors.

(Y/n) and I are sitting on the floor, crying together. I miss this so much. I feel a shadow cast over us, I look up and see Rain.

"For all the years I've known you, you've never cried this much before." He says laughing.

"Shut up." I say, sniffling, I look back at (Y/n) who is still crying like crazy, I smile at her and chuckle. "You missed me?"

"Of course I did!" She exclaims jumping on top of me, "All those years without you were so hard!"

"Shh... shh (Y/n)..." I pat her head as the other mentors laugh about it. "I'm here now..."

"Yeah... you are..."
