Her ears pinned. She turned tail and walked away not saying a thing to him. "Wait," he called, she paused a hoof hovering above the ground. "Esmerelda," he waded through the river to her, now she turned. "The decision I made was wrong, please forgive me." He dropped to his knees in front of her, she fidgeted and flicked her ears. "Is my nephew still with you?" She nudged her nose into his chest and pushed him back.
"Leave!" her ears now laid flat back against her head and lifted her lip up.
"Listen to me," he said.
"I shouldn't have to, after the way you treated me," she snorted and stamped her foot deep into the mud.
"Please," he begged.
"I don't know who you are," she disappeared into the forest leaving a sobbing Thorin. She returned to the Iron Hills galloping as fast as she could, she paused as her hooves hit Dwarven ground. The guards rushed to her.
"Are you okay Milady?" One asked.
"Yes," she answered. "Where is Prince Fili?"
"In the library, I believe," one answered. She gave them a nod and trotted off, as she entered into the throne room she turned back into her elf form and rushed to Fili. He was sat at the table with a book in front of him. "F...Fili."
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"I...I met Thorin in the forest," she replied and collapsed into the chair next to him.
"And let me guess you shrugged him off?" he asked turning his attention to her.
"Yes," she nodded.
"What did she say?" he asked.
"He wants us back," she replied.
"He does?" he inquired a little surprised.
"He was distraught, broke Fili, I had never seen him like that," she replied. Kili joined us taking the seat at the head of the table.
"What have I missed?" he asked.
"Nothing," Fili answered.
"Come on you two I know when you're discussing something as your both secretive, and your voices are hushed," he said. Both Fili and Esmerelda exchanged glances.
"Okay fine," Fili said. "This afternoon Esmerelda stumbled upon Thorin."
"She did? What did he say? Can we go home?" he asked.
"Kili, you could always go home I was the one forbidden to entering," she reminded him.
"But yes we can," Fili replied.
"Great I'll go pack my things," he said and racing up from the table.
"Hold on a minute Kili, we don't know if we're going home," Fili replied turning in his chair to face Kili who now stood in the hallway.
"Why not? It's been five years!" he whined.
"Because I don't forgive so easily!" Esmerelda exclaimed standing throwing the chair back with such force it chipped the fireplace.
"Esmerelda it was five years ago! Five years!" he yelled.
"Makes no difference to me," she replied.
"Well I'll return without you both," Kili said and stormed off.
"He wouldn't dare go on his own not with all the dangers out there, he knows he's not strong enough," Fili said.
"Once he's calmed down I'll talk to him," she said.
