Pure cuddly fluff. Early SRAR/late hiatus era.

Patrick and Pete politely wait for Andy and Joe to leave. They really do. But eventually the wait has been long enough, and Patrick starts yawning to drop hints that he's tired and ready to call it a night. He knows that they need to get in the habit of writing as a group if they want to be a band again, he knows they need to start songwriting if they want to announce their reunion in the coming year, but this is the first time he and Pete have shared a hotel room since before the hiatus began.

Andy and Joe leave a few minutes after Patrick pretends to nod off with his computer still open. They roll their eyes, but there are knowing smirks on both of their faces, because they're not idiots.

Pete walks them to the door, promising they'll do more work tomorrow. Patrick moves to sit at the edge of the bed and waits for Pete to come back.

Pete re-enters his field of view and pauses. "Hey."

"Hi," Patrick says quietly.

"Long time no see," Pete teases.

There's a beat of silence, and then they're sprinting to close the gap between them. It should hurt when they collide, but it feels right to have Pete's chest pressed against his.

It's not like they haven't seen each other since the hiatus started. It's just that it's been weeks since they've had time to themselves like this.

Pete's hiding his face in Patrick's neck, and they're pulling each other as close as they can manage, clutching like they can't get enough. Patrick buries his nose in Pete's hair and takes a deep breath, and his desperation eases a bit when he's taking in the smell of Pete's shampoo.

"Fuck, I missed you so much," Patrick says. "Missed holding you like this."

"Patrick Patrick Patrick I missed you too baby," Pete whispers between lingering kisses to the side of Patrick's neck. "Come on, let's get into bed."

They take off each other's shirts and pants, then pull back the sheets of the hotel bed. Pete pushes Patrick down on the bed and hovers over him for a few long kisses before moving to lay down beside him. They lay staring for a moment, smiling as they bask in each other's presence.

Pete scoots closer and grabs Patrick's hips, pulling him in. Patrick goes willingly. Their legs twine together, and their foreheads touch. Pete's hands start to wander, stroking Patrick's skin. They travel up his sides, then over his shoulders and back down his arms. Patrick wraps an arm around Pete's neck, and his other hand comes up to rest on Pete's chest.

Pete's skin is warm and smooth under his fingers. His breathing and heart rate are slow and steady under his palm, and Patrick thinks that Pete would feel the same thing in his chest, too.

Pete's hands trail down the back of Patrick's thighs to the bend of his knees. He tilts his head and brushes feather-light kisses along the curve of Patrick's jaw, making Patrick hum in response. He moves closer to Pete, until their hips meet and Pete wraps his arms around Patrick's middle.

Pete pulls back from Patrick's jaw and reconnects their foreheads. He's too close for Patrick to stare at him properly, so he closes his eyes and nuzzles Pete's cheek.

Pete giggles and kisses Patrick sweetly. "I love you so much." He starts tracing Patrick's spine with his fingertips.

"I love you too," Patrick murmurs through a smile.

Pete hauls Patrick a little bit closer. "Go to sleep, baby. I know you were only half-pretending earlier with Andy and Joe, and I'm not going anywhere."

Patrick nods, then starts humming "Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year" to help Pete fall asleep with him. Pete kisses his cheek, then tucks his head in the curve of Patrick's shoulder.

They're asleep within minutes. Patrick doesn't think he's slept better in his life.
