bog-roll is the new currency,
lassoed from common shelves
resold in yards and on Ebay,
by enterprising... racketeers,
little better than looters,
to those who didn't think in time
to order bulk online,
this phony-phase,
to those who cannot / will not
get up with the cock
(rooster to you) and queue
outside a supermarket,
scrum dirty inside,
leaving little old ladies crying
on sidewalk deserts
for one roll's pittance:
'Loose change for an old bum.'

A little play on the common language which divides us:-
Uk says 'cock' or 'cockerel' where USA, and Canada (and Australia, apparently) avoids the Anglo-Saxon by designating the male bird a 'rooster'.
Bum means beggar and to bum means primarily to beg in USA. In UK and Australia bum is , primarily, your bottom, your arse (ass to USA}.
I must add a note or two. The guys price 'gouging' online got arrested and old folks got an early hour at the supermarkets, once an emergency was declared. Hurrah for fair play Australia!
