the boggart

The next morning when I came downstairs after getting ready I saw my dad moving a large rattling wardrobe into the middle of the room.

"Dad what is in there?"

"That darling, is a boggart.they are very nasty creatures, no one knows what they truly look like but if you encounter one it will transform itself into your worst fear."

"That's so scary, why do you even have one of those"

"It's for my third year class I'm going to teach them how to deal with a boggart"

When he said that I knew that my friends harry Ron and Hermione would be in this class and I wanted to know what Thier boggart would turn into and overall it sounded like it would be a rather interesting lesson.

"Hey dad can I stay up here today and watch your lessons"

Remus quickly replied he was happy that his daughter wanted to stay because ever since they came to Hogwarts he usually only saw her before she left and before she went to bed.

"Of course you can just be careful around the wardrobe, now I'm just going to go into the other room to check on the grindilow" he turned on his heel and left the room.

I looked at the wardrobe and saw that it was rattling a lot more in fact it was rattling so much that it fell over and the door opened.paralized with fear I just stood there staring at the door waiting for some thing to happen.A shallow faced looking man crawled out if the wardrobe and stood to face me he had shoulder length black hair that looked like it hadn't been washed in months,his eyes were sunken in and were a greyish slivery colour.it took me a minute to realise who it was and when I did I let out an ear-splitting scream.

"Well if it isn't little Ava, I've been looking for you for a while and now-"

But he was cut off by dad bursting trough the door and pointing his wand at Sirius but when Sirius turned to face him he transformed into the full moon.

"Riddickulus" the moon turned into a deflating balloon and flew back into the wardrobe and the door locked.dad rushed over and sat on the floor next the where I had tripped over and picked me up onto his lap and held me while I cried.

"Shhhhh it's alright it wasn't real it was just the boggart"he said while Stroking my hair.I stopped crying and looked up at him.

"What if he finds us?"

"He won't I promise you are safe here"

Once I had calmed down he sat me on his desk and stood next to the wardrobe as the class filled in.I sent a smile towards the Ron and harry which they returned but I was confused as to why Hermione wasn't with them.everone formed a crowd infront of dad and once the last student had walked in he began to speak.

"Good morning class,now can anyone tell me what is in this wardrobe?"

"That's a boggart that is"one of the griffindor students said, I had seen him in the common room before.

"Very good mr.finnigan and can anyone tell me what a boggart is?"

"A boggart is a magical creature that turns into a persons worst fear to scare away anyone who encounters it"Hermione said from the other side of the crowd.i looked at harry and Ron who looked just as confused as I did 'when did she get here' I mouthed to ron 'dont know' he mouthed back.

"Couldn't have said it better myself now there is one small advantage to taking on a boggart, have you noticed it harry?"

"Erm..if there is more than one person it won't know who's fear to turn into?"

"Very good harry, everyone form a line being Neville here"dad instructed the class and everyone formed a single file line with Neville at the front.

"Now Neville what is you're biggest fear"he mumbled something but I couldn't hear what he said.

"Sorry Neville didn't catch that"

"Professor Snape"he said a bit louder some student started to laugh or snigger so I sent Neville and encouraging smile and he stood up a bit taller and smiled back.

"Ah professor Snape he frightens all, and am I correct in saying that you live with your grandmother?"

"Yes but I don't want it to turn into her either"

"No no I just want you to picture what your grandmother usually wears and then imagine professor Snape in your grandmother's clothes"

Dad walked over the the wardrobe and used his wand to open it then went back and stood next to neville.

"Wand at the ready Neville the spell is reddickulus"

Uncle sev walked out of the wardrobe and sauntered over towards Neville with a scowl etched upon his face.

"Reddickulus"Neville stutters and all of a sudden uncle sev was waiting a green skirt and blazer with a large hat with a vulture in his head and a big red handbag on his arm.the entire class burst into laughter and the next person in the line was brought the to the front.A couple more students has a go with fears like snakes, mummies and banshees until it was Harry's turn. Harry stood Infront of the boggart which at the moment was a jack in the box and after a while the room turned cold and all the laughter and smiles were gone,I felt like I would never be happy again and I could faintly the two men again and Infront of harry stood a large dementor.dad slid Infront of harry and the boggart once again turned into the full moon and dad got it back into he wardrobe.After dad had dismissed the class I went over to the trio to make sure that harry was ok which he said he was and then they all left.

After a couple more boggart lessons me and my dad made our way down the the Great hall and sat at the professors table for dinner.I was sat in-between dad and uncle sev and I could see groups of students laughing and pointed up at uncle sev which made me think of the first lesson again and I started to giggle.

"Ava what are you and everyone laughing at?" Uncle sev asked turning to face me.

"Nothing at all uncle sev"

"Avery don't.lie.to me"he said in a stern voice

"I'm not saying anything you can ask the other students"

He was about to ask me again but before he could say anything else I got up and ran toythe griffindor table and sat with my friends

"Hello Ava, how come you are sitting over here?"

"Proffesor Snape was asking about why everyone was laughing at him but I didn't want to rat Neville out so I ran before he could say anything else"

"Thank you Ava"

"No problem Neville if he finds and is mean to you anymore come to me and me and the Weasley twins will do something about it"I said and winked at fred and George and they winked back.

"Harry I heard that you have a quidditch match tomorrow"

Harry smiled at Ava "yeah I do are you and proffesor lupin  coming to watch?"

"Wouldn't miss it I will be wearing all red,you better catch that snitch"

He laughed"I'll catch it just for you"

I smiled and thanked him and went back to my seat at staff table and just changed the subject every time uncle sev asked me what was going on which made my dad snigger until he eventually gave up.
