Ava's P.O.V

Hi! I'm Avery Hope Lupin, I am six years old, seven on December 18th and I live in a small cottage with my daddy, Remus Lupin, My mommy used to live with us too but my daddy said that she went up in the sky to live with the angles when I was a little baby. That's enough about me for now, you can find out more as the story goes along, so lets get to it!

It was early in the morning so I was still sleeping in my bed, my room was the smallest in the house but I absolutely loved it, the walls were all painted white and so was my wardrobe, my bed was in the corner of my room and it had light purple covers, my favourite colour. I was sleeping peacefully until my daddy sneakily crept into my room and kneeled down on the side of my bed, I had heard the floor boards creak so I was awake now but I kept my eyes closed because I wasn't ready to get up yet. 

"My beautiful angel" I heard him whisper "just like her mother"

All off a sudden his hands dug into my sides and he started to tickle me which caused my eyes to shoot open and let out a little, high pitches squeal. I tried to wriggle out of his grasp but he was too strong, I could feel tears start to come my eyes from laughter.

"Daddy stop, I'm awake, I'm awake" I manage to say through fits of laughter   

He started to chuckle and I moved my eyes to look at his face as I tried, and failed, to rip his hands of me. His face had a bright, toothy smile on it and he was already washed and dressed, he had his hair combed back and he was wearing his smartest robes that he only wore if he was going to a job interview. Eventually, he stopped tickling me and picked me up out of my bed and spun me around before setting me on his hip, he looked the happiest I have ever seen him.

"I have some exciting news Ava" He told me

"What is it daddy?!" I asked him excitedly, wanting to know what had put in this great mood.

"Well, my cub, I have been offered a new job, much better than any of the others I have ever had" He said and I couldn't take it anymore, I needed to know what it was.

"Tell me already!"

"Alright, alright" He took a breathe to try and calm down then turned to me again "I have been asked to take the job of Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts!" 

My jaw dropped. Daddy was always talking about when he used to go to Hogwarts with his best friends and all the amazing things that they did there, he also liked to read hid old school books to me and would say that he was preparing me for when I was old enough to go there myself. I couldn't believe that even though I was only six I would be going to Hogwarts and my Daddy would be there with me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly and he one of the hands he was using to hold to rub my back.

"Awww, are you happy Avery?"

"Are you kidding me?" I answered with another question "I'm the happiest little girl in the world!"

Daddy smiled at me but it was quick to turn into a frown as he trailed his finger across my face where I'm guessing there was a new scar for me to add to my collection, great. I ignored all of this and softly pulled his hand away and sent him a soft smile that he returned.

"Are you okay, baby? I'm so sorry"

"It's not your fault Daddy, I'm alright, my arms, legs and back are just hurting a bit"

He nodded and decided that he was going to carry me no matter how much I told him not to because was sore too. He used one arms to put my covers back in place before walking out of my room and down the stairs. As I looked up at my daddy I felt bad for him, he hates the full moon but luckily Moony and baby Moony weren't as bad as they usually are, my body aching still and I could assume that my skin was very pale, just like daddy's is, he also looked very tired but he seemed to happy to care.

"Are you feeling ill daddy?"

"No my darling, I'm feeling brilliant this morning, now we better get some breakfast made and eaten so we can get you ready to go"

He got to the last step and led me into the the Kitchen before lowering me down onto one of the chairs and sitting down across from me. He pulled his wand from his blazer pocket waved in the air and our buttered toast made itself and landed on a plate in front of us both. I picked mine up and started eating while Daddy was doing the same but was reading the daily prophet at the same time, I noticed that he was covering the front page after he had looked at it which made me curious.

He finished his food and threw the newspaper on the counter and went upstairs to get our trunks that he said that he had woken up extra early to pack, giving me a kiss on the head and ruffling my hair as he walked past. 

As soon as I was sure that he was gone, I dragged a chair towards the counter and picked up the daily prophet and went to the front page and what I saw sent shivers down my spine. There was a picture of a man with long, messy hair and he looked really sick, he was also screaming and trashing in the picture like a mad man, which he probably was. The picture wasn't the scary part though, my eyes shifted down the writing below.

                                            MASS MURDER SIRIUS BLACK ESCAPES AZKABAN

The ministry is on high alert as mass murderer, Sirius Black was found missing from his cell in Azkaban prison, The criminal is known as one of the most dangerous wizards, being thrown in a cell for killing 13 muggles and fellow wizard Peter Pettigrew. Aurors say that they checked his cell thoroughly and the only evidence that could be found as to his possible whereabouts where the names of two people that he had been reported saying in his sleep.

The first of which being the name of wizarding celebrity and Hero Harry Potter and unknown female Avery Lupin.

I stopped reading after that and threw the paper away from me while screaming, the motion causing me to fall backwards and onto the floor, how did this murderer know my name? and why would he be after me? I heard heavy footsteps thunder down the stairs and into the kitchen that had to be my daddy's. I felt him pull me up from the floor and into his arms, hugging me tightly yo his chest. 

"Shhhhh, what happened Ava? why are you crying darling?"

I didn't say anything and just pointed towards the news paper where Sirius blacks screaming face was on the floor next to the chair.

"Oh Ava, I told you not to read those" He said softly while stroking my hair.

"I-I'm s-so-sorry daddy" I said starting to calm down, my crying slowly turning into hiccupping "is he going to cone after me?"

Daddy didn't say anything for a  moment but I heard him sigh and lift my head form his shoulder so he could look into his eyes.

"It's ok, I promise I'll be with you all the time so no one will be able to hurt you" He wiped away my tears with his thumb and smiled at me " we are going to be at Hogwarts which is a very safe place now I've packed your bags so let's get you dressed and ready to go we have a train to catch"
