"The fl-" Elliott didn't finish as he was quickly grabbed by the neck.

The creature walked into his home, choking him.

"Don't speak, just listen. You stay away from that pure lady. You don't deserve her. Tainting a delicate flower with your sickness.

"You come near her again, what you got last night will be nothing for what I can do to you."

Smiling a sharp toothy grin, he show the City Hero his sharp jagged nails.

Taking the threat easily, Elliott kicked him in the neck, dropping him down to the floor.

"Sorry, but I'm a guy. Us guys are hardheaded."

Going for a punch, the Hero connected to the monster's jaw. But right after, he was almost bitten on the right arm where he used to attack. With the miss attack, Elliott jab the throat with his left hand.

Kicking the creature out his home, Elliott went to close the door, but was grabbed and pulled out. Held by his shirt, he was slammed on the brick wall.

"Play a hero, die a hero" the creature growled pulling back his right paw, ready pierce those sharp nails into the Hero's heart.

In time, a shriek cause his hand from deepening into his victim's chest. Looking at the direction from where it came from, the ears flatten.

It was Tawna.

"Oh, no. No no no" the creature said, looking at the frighten lady. "Please, please don't go. We were talking."

"Y-y-you can t-talk?" She asked.

"Y-yes" he said. Hearing the grunts of the person between him and his pure love, the creature snarled. "I can't hurt you in front of her. But at least I can mane you."

Elliott's eye open wide when he was chucked towards the railing in the outdoor hallway at Tawna.

Trying to get a hold of the railing, he was too late and he fell down to out of his apartment complex

"ELLIOTT!" The crush of both men yell, looking through the darkness for her friend.

"I'm so sorry" turning around, Tawna sees the creature slowly crawl to her. "I-I didn't wa-want to hurt him. Especially in f-front of you."

Doors open up to see the commotion. When the residents saw the monster, they head back inside.

"Stay away from me!" Tawna said.

"Pl-please don't be mad..."

"Whew, I can't believe this weather. I thought it was suppose clear out and it's raining humans."

The monster turn to see the Hero...the Drago Knight standing behind him.

"Excuse me sir, but I have questions to ask."

"Sorry, but I gotta go" said the creature, running away.

Not letting his opponent go, Drago gives chase. As the monster leaps on the rail, he glance at his pure crush. The fear on her face, the tears rolling down from her eyes.

It pained him and his heart hurt.

"Get back here!"

Getting back to reality, the creature leaped into the woods. Drago look out to see it keep running.

He turn to Tawna who was laying on the wall.

"I'm sorry I wasn't quick enough to get here" he told her.

"How's Elliott? He...isn't...?"

"No. He's okay. I caught him in time. I was planning to see him anyway" said Drago.

Seeing the flashes of red and blue lights, the Gnorc Destroyer went walk back to the front of the complex.

"Elliott is going to chat with the po-po. Stay in his home till he gets back, okay?" Drago asked her.

Tawna nodded but still had a confusing look on her face. "O-okay. H-how do you know Elliott?"

'If you only knew...'

Walking into the room, the Female Bandicoot start to close the door.

"By the way, Miss..." Drago Knight said, getting her attention. "Him and I are good friends. Us heroes try to be. Take care and lock the door."

Watching her close the door and hear it lock, he ran off.

What felt like an hour of being alone, a knock on the door got Tawna up from the stool next the kitchen table in front of a bowl of cereal that is beyond soggy.

Heading to the door, she open up.

"If this keeps up...I might be out of MQ for a year."

Elliott walked to his home, smiling at his crush. She hug him, surprising the Hero

"Um...t-thanks, Tawna."

"I'm so glad you're alive."

His heart warm up from her worries and him wash it away.

Breaking the hug, he look into her eyes, smiling. Trying not to make it awkward, he change the subject.

"Would you ice cream? It helps heal hearts during break-ups and monsters trying to kill a friend."

A chuckle came from her mouth. "Y-yes. I would like some."

Heading to the freezer, he took out a carton of cookies and cream ice cream. After filling up two mugs with the delicious frozen dessert, he sat across the table from his crush, giving her a spoon.

After eating in awkward silence, Elliott went in his room. Few minutes later, he came with covers.

"Um, don't take this creepily. Stay over tonight. If you need clothes, we can get your clothes."

Tawna clear her throat. "Um, no...I mean I can stay over. I'll just where what underneath this."

"Okay. You can sleep in my room."

"Where you going to sleep?"

"On the couch."

"Thanks, Elliott. You really don't have to" said The Bandicoot.

"I know. I just want to. Plus that thing will have to end me before going to you. My screams of pain should wake you while I'm dying" Elliott jokingly said.

Rolling her eyes, Tawna smile at Hero. "After what you been through, how can you be so...happy?"

"That's simple. You're alive. That's what keeps me happy. When this is over, hopefully, seeing your smile will be better" he answered.

Heading to his room, she turn around to look at him setting up the couch. 'Thank you.'

Walking to the fridge to get a water, Elliott stop on something odd on the floor. Picking it up, he looked at it.

"Hmm, a slip up. Looks like tomorrow I'm going to be busy."

"Stupid, stupid, stupid! All we had to do is get rid of the "wannabe" hero, only to fight the actual hero."

"This wouldn't happen if you just follow my lead."

"Doing it your way isn't going to get this done. I'm taking control of this! I'm got this!"

"My way is safe and people won't get hurt!"

"Haha, sorry kiddo. But sometimes, you gotta be a monster. You're just a wimp. I got a plan."
