Part two to pregnant.

The couple had been so scared to have their baby, as neither of them knew the first thing about kids or how to look after them. Nat had been especially nervous, as she believed that she wasn't a nurturing person at all. If you asked Peter or Wanda, they would disagree completely but she didn't ask Peter or Wanda and didn't believe Steve at all. All through her pregnancy, she was terrified out of her mind that she would fail as a parent, despite her husband's many assurances that she would be the best mother ever.

As soon as she held her daughter on her arms for the first time, she knew she would do anything for her and her instincts took over almost instantly. She knew exactly when little Gwen (don't worry I'm not gonna make Peter fall in love with her Twilight style it just suited her) needed her nappies changing or if she was hungry and somehow, in the middle of the night, just before she woke up Nat and would be by her side as soon as her forest green eyes fluttered open.

It was Steve who struggled. With her crimson hair and emerald eyes, it was hard to tell there was any Steve in Gwen at all. He loves his little girl, but at first, when she would cry every time he held her and squirmed if she was around him without her mother, it was hard for him not to take it personally. Gwen loved being held, by Nat, Tony, Peter, Bucky, Pepper, Wanda, Laura, Lila, Cooper, Clint, Sam, and even Vision, but not Steve. He hated that his own child preferred a robot to her father. And that is why Nat found her husband sat on the roof of the tower with silent tears streaming down his face while the rest of the team dotes on the baby.

"Hey, babe, what's wrong sweetie?" She approached him gently, knowing how much he hates being weak.
"She loves everyone but me. It's not fair. I am trying so hard to think that she doesn't even know who's who and that she can't have favourites yet and that she's not even a month old, but it's hard when she lets everyone hold her except me." Nat sat down beside him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Hey, remember when I was pregnant with her and everyone was feeling my tummy to try to feel her kick? She would only do it for you. It's like she could sense it was your hands and kick like crazy. She does love you, she's just not used to you yet. Have you noticed that since she was born you've been so scared of hurting her that you have practically tiptoed around her? Because we have. We all have. Just because you have super strength doesn't mean you're going to crush her by holding her. Relax a bit."

The couple walked downstairs hand in hand and as soon as she caught sight of the baby, Nat scooped her up.
"We're going to bed, so if anyone needs us, you know where we'll be." Nat announced.
"Yeah Steve, get some!" Clint shouted after them as they walked down the hall, earning a middle finger off Nat. They weaved through the halls of the tower in almost complete silence, save little Gwen's quiet coos and noises.

As soon as they reached their floor, Nat pushed Steve onto the couch and gave him the tiny baby. She began crying at first, but Steve took Nat's advice and relaxed a bit. She quietened down almost immediately and reached her hand up towards Steve's face. He leant down so she could reach and she put her hand on his nose. He kissed her tiny hand and she smiled slightly. He fed her the bottle Nat handed him and she fell asleep within ten minutes, quietly snoring. He stood up carefully and placed her at the bottom of the crib, so she wouldn't bang her head during the night. He set up the baby monitor and walked out of the room.

He sat heavily on the sofa next to his wife with a big smile on his face.
"I did it! My baby doesn't hate me!" He whisper yelled.
"I know! I told you so!" Nat whispered back. He kissed her softly, smiling against her lips. It was her who deepened the kiss, turning it passionate and desperate. Their lips moved in sync and Nat climbed onto Steve's lap, straddling him. He picked her up and carried her to their bedroom and, well...

The next morning
The happy couple walked into the kitchen the next morning hand in hand, Steve carrying a sleepy Gwen in his free arm. The entire room fell silent at the sight of Cap carrying his child.
"Holy shit, he did it!" Clint shouted, making Gwen start crying. Steve gently bounced her in his arms until she stopped and fell back to sleep. They recounted the story of how they got Gwen to enjoy being held by Steve in hushed voices, with Wanda quietly 'Aww'ing occasionally. As soon as they finished, Gwen woke up with a yawn, and pass the baby began. Everyone fought over who would be next to hold the baby, which was rather amusing. Watching the Scarlet Witch threaten Hawk-Eye about who would get to hold a baby first was quite funny, though, and Nat and Steve were laughing hysterically after less than five minutes. For the first time in weeks, Steve didn't have a looming cloud of sadness hovering over his head.

Ok so I know I said I was going to update over a week ago, and I'm a horrible author and you should all hate me, but I have a reasonable excuse this time.

I can't remember if I mentioned it last time, but my best friend's uncle got coronavirus and unfortunately passed away. It was his funeral on Tuesday, and while my family obviously couldn't actually attend it, we were alout to stand outside and wave him off. It's just been really hard trying to help my bestie over facetime and text when all I want to do is give her a hug. Then there's also my mum, who is super sad, because even though they weren't that close, she is super emotional.

But please, please stay home if you can and try to practice socially distance. Let's try and flatten the curve, to keep as many families as possible from going through what my best friend's did. Stay strong, stay safe.
