Ballet

I actually do ballet, so this is in my comfort zone. Romanogers and a tiny bit of momma-spider.

Nat had always been fascinated by the beautiful art of ballet, even when it had been used in her training as a sort of torture, a way of making them gain control of their bodies. It was incredibly difficult and painful, especially when she got her first pointe shoes, but she didn't care. The sense of freedom she got when she danced was unparalleled. She didn't have to be the Black Widow, fierce, ruthless assassin. She could just be Natasha Romanoff, a young girl who adored everything about the art.

So it felt only right that when the world fell apart and half of the population was wiped out that she did the one thing that could make her feel better. Dance. So that's what she found herself doing on a rainy Sunday afternoon when she was all alone at the compound.  She slipped on a black leotard and picked up her pointe shoes and made her way to the special dance studio Tony installed.

After warming up at the barre, she pirroetted around the mirrored room, doing pique turns and leaps. Standing in the centre of the room doing arabesques and delveloppes, she gently lifted herself on to her toes, relishing in the pain of both the gentle stretch and the weight of her entire body on her toes. She sighed heavily and plugged her phone into the large speakers, turning on some gentle music.

The redhead pushed her body to the max, throwing herself around all over the floor. She poured her heart and soul into her dance and as the music faded, she was crying, feeling the pain of losing half of her family. She curled up in a ball in the middle of the vast wooden floor and sobbed, heart-wrenching, ugly sobs. She heard footsteps coming towards her and looked up to meet the icy blue eyes that could only belong to Steve Rogers. He crouched down beside her and enveloped her small body in his large one, his scent giving her a sense of comfort that she hadn't expected to feel ever again.

"Peter... He was like a son to me. After the whole fight, Tony introduced me to him. I never expected to feel like that about anyone. When they sterilised me, I thought that I could never feel what it's like to be a mother. But the kid, he proved me wrong, of course. He was so smart, did you know that? And so kind. He had the heart of an angel. He wasn't a superhero because he got powers. He was 15, he could have waited until he was older. But he thought that if there was anything he could do to save people's lives, then he should do it. And he was gonna ask this girl, MJ out this week. He had a big elaborate plan. She dusted too. I should have done more. It's not fair that I'm here and they're not. It's really not." Steve stroked her hair as she cried into his chest, leaving stains on his light blue shirt. Her mascara streaked down her cheeks.

"I know you blame yourself. We all do. But what matters now is that we're both here. So let's do everything in our power to try and help whatever's left of this messed up world. We can't change the past, but we can effect the future." Steve growled. "In my future, I want to be with you. Like, together. In a relationship. Sh*t, I'm so bad at this." Nat giggles through her tears.
"Language, Cap. And while your methods could be improved, you asked me out didn't you. And I would love nothing more on this world right now, other than the other half of the population, to be with you, together, in a relationship."

She kissed him, or maybe he kissed her, but whichever way around it was they ended up kissing on the floor of a ballet studio.
"Now then Romanoff, you wanna show me some moves? You looked pretty good before." Steve hauled them both off the floor. Nat wiped her face and began dancing again, this time less hauntingly and with ever so slightly more spring in her step.

Woah double update! I told you I should be able to write more in the holidays. Thanks for reading.
