Peter and MJ are 22-23 and they have been dating since they were 17

Peter didn't think there had ever been a more nervous individual than he was right at this minute.

The butterflies in his stomach felt more like pigeons and his hands were sweating profusely. he was pacing up and down his and MJ's shared room, waiting for her to emerge from the ensuite to set off on their date.

MJ thought that they would be going on a normal date to a nice restaurant or some kind of museum, not that Peter had anything special planned. Unbeknownst to her, by the end of the night, they might not just be boyfriend and girlfriend.

MJ came out of the bathroom dressed in a black dress that went just above her knee, black nail varnish to match. Her heels would make her look miles taller than Peter, and they were uncomfortable, so she opted for a nice pair of flats. Her face was makeup free and her hair was swept back off her face in a bun.

Peter had on black dress trousers with a white shirt and a blazer jacket over his arm. The first few buttons of the shirt were undone. He wore white converse on to make the outfit more casual.

They left their small but homely apartment and climbed into their shared car. Peter drove them to their first destination of many that night.

MJ was visibly confused when they arrived at Midtown School of Science and Technology. Why would they be coming back to the school that they left all those years ago? Peter took her hand and led her round to the back of the school, where there was a door left propped open.

They went through the door, walking into the chemistry classroom that they had had in their first year of school. They went and sat down on the desk that they had shared all year.

"This is the place where we first met, remember? We were put together on the seating plan, and you looked really peeved off that you had to share a desk with anyone and you didn't talk to me unless it was necessary for the first half of the year. But then, you suddenly did. Sure it was just about school, but it was a start. This is where you fondly nicknamed me both 'nerd' and 'loser' for the first time. I will always remember our conversations at this table. You know, I'm pretty sure that Mr Harrington shipped us. Thats probably why he agreed to leave the door open when I asked him."

"Do you remember the time you spilled dye on my book?" MJ asked with a smirk and a quirk of her eyebrow.

Peter turned a shade of red. "You were so mad at me! I tried to clean it up, I swear, but it's called dye for a reason."

"It's okay, I forgave you like, a year and a half ago."

"But we've been dating for almost five!" MJ's only response was a shrug and a coy smile. Peter rolled his eyes and tugged on her hand.

"C'mon, we've got places to be."

Their next destination was a small pond surrounded by beautiful flowers and rocks covered in moss. The surface of the pond was so smooth and yet clear that you could see the bottom. Small fish darted between stones and each other. It was the kind of crystal water that you could sit and admire all day.

"This is also quite special to our relationship, I'd say. It's the place where I asked you to be my girlfriend. I googled where the most romantic spots around here are, and I fell in love with this the moment I saw the picture online, so I brought you here, sat you down, and asked you to be my girlfriend. Then we spent all day swimming and your mum and my aunt almost killed us for staying out so late without telling anyone where we were."
