(Third Person) Jake's POV

He no longer knew what he felt for Amy Santiago. He had tried over and over to clear his head, but it seemed impossible. Every time she smiled, it made him feel good about himself and his place on earth, but he knew she didn't feel that way. And it was killing him.

Jake got out of the elevator with his head full of negative thoughts that wouldn't shut up. He sat in his desk maybe a bit too violently to only be sitting down, and turned his computer on with a little too much strength. He didn't even care noticing that Rosa and Charles exchanged looks when they noticed he was angry.

Oh, and, to top it off, Amy wasn't in her desk. She was late for work, something Jake thought was impossible to happen. Maybe she was still with that guy she went on a date with, Teddy. Come on, Jake, why are you even thinking about that?

"What's up with you?" asked Rosa, hitting Jake's desk and startle him.

He shook his head.

"Pff... nothing," he lied. "Just- global warming, what a bitch, right? We all gon' drown."

"You've used that lie before," said Rosa, crossing her arms. "What's really going on, man? You haven't said anything stupid in all the week."

"I'm fine," he said, and smiled crookedly. "See? I'm happy."

Rosa rolled her eyes, and he stopped making effort to smile.

"There is something going on with you and we can't help if you don't tell---"

"Yes, Jakey, what's wrong?" interrupted Charles eagerly, running to Jake's desk.

"Nothing!" he repeated, a bit too loud. Jake sighed and cleared his throat. He felt pretty much ridiculous, but it wasn't his fault to be making a big deal out of that. "I'm sorry..."

"Don't be," said Charles, smiling. "Wanna watch Die Hard tonight? A marathon if you want, I can go to your place and---"

"Sounds good," Jake accepted before Charles had finished, but he needed something to keep his mind out of the whole Amy thing.

And, talking about Amy, just when Jake had actually smiled for the first time that morning, he saw her entering the precinct, with a big grin on her face. Of course, she hurried to the Captain's office to explain why she was late, but Jake just stayed at his desk, his smile vanishing.

Charles and Rosa exchanged another look before going back to their desks, as Amy sat in her desk in front of Jake.

"Hey, Peralta," she said, beaming.

"Santiago," said Jake, not even looking at her. He stood up from his chair and went into the break room without saying anything else, because he feared Amy would start talking about her date with Teddy, and he knew that would just make him feel worse.

And he hated it.

Amy's POV

Last night had been fun.

Amy had gone in a date with Teddy, and she was afraid he would get bored when he heard her talk just about binders, or that she would get bored herself if he only talked about pilsners, but it hadn't been like that. Teddy was cute, actually, and a gentleman.

She was in a hurry because she had over slept, and none of her three alarms, all with battery back-up, had waken her up. It had been a long night.

Walking as fast as she could, she got out of the elevator and glanced at Jake, Charles and Rosa, who were talking in Jake's desk. She went straight to Captain Holt's office to apologize for being late, and he just told her not to repeat it, because he had enough with Peralta.

She went to her desk, happy because everything seemed to be working out by now. Her date had gone perfect, and Holt wasn't angry she was late. It all looked good until...

"Hey, Peralta," she beamed at Jake, sitting in front of him.

"Santiago," he answered, not even looking at her. As if she hadn't talk to him, he stood up from his chair and walked to the break room without saying anything else.

Weird, she thought, Jake was never like that, he wasn't even smiling.

Taking her head out of that, she just shrugged, he would be better later, and started doing her paperwork, yet happy because of last night.
