Jake's POV

He felt terrible. He was back in the holding cell, had just been interrogated, now it was Amy's turn. But Jake's head was once more full of negative thoughts, just as it had all started.

Charles looked at him pitifully, as he stared at a spot on the wall. He didn't feel like talking to anyone but to Amy. Only she knew what he was going throug, because she was in the same situation.

"Don't you want anything more, bud?" asked Charles timidly. Jake had already eaten all that was inside the plastic bag, yet he felt empty.

"No, thanks, Charles," he answered sadly.

Charles and Gina exchanged looks, even sadder than Jake's tone. But he didn't care. He was going to jail for something terrible he hadn't even done.

"Jake, it's killing us seeing you like this," said Gina eagerly. "That's saying something."

"I'm sorry," said Jake, leaning against the wall. "Just... my life is ruined. All I fucking wanted was to date a girl and it got dark and crazy."

"Dark and crazy is the look that you have on your face," said Gina.

"Well I won't smile, it's not like I have a reason," replied Jake, crossing his arms.

Charles shook his head, but next to him Gina giggled excitedly at her phone.

"What are you smiling about?" questioned Jake, trying not to sound so rude.

"You said you had no reason to smile, right?" Gina showed Jake the screen of her phone. "Well, now you do."

Jake got to his feet quickly and got closer to the cell to see what Gina had. It was a message from Rosa. She was saying 'we got evidence'. For some reason it took Jake's head various seconds to process what he read, but then it clicked.

Rosa had evidence. Was he free? Was he going to jail yet? It was hard for him to process it anyways, he wasn't in the best state.

"Jake, don't tell me I've been wrong my whole life and it turns out you can't read as I suspected," said Gina, since Jake didn't answer.

"I can read!" he frowned, but couldn't avoid smiling.

"You know what this means, right?" said Charles, basically jumping on his feet.

He nodded.

Jake and Amy were finally gonna rest.

Rosa's POV

She and Terry were in the basement where Wells had Jake locked. Terry looked disgusted and pale, but Rosa was so focused on finding something that could prove Amy and Jake's innocence that she was barely paying attention to gross details.

"Are you sure we should be here?" asked Terry, wincing at blood in the floor.

"Don't you want to prove that our friends are innocent?" said Rosa.

"Yeah, but... I don't know, we should leave the work to someone else, maybe?"

"Wait..." Rosa faced Terry, her eyes narrowed. "You do believe that they are innocent, right?"

"Of course I do!" Terry frowned, indignant. "I'm saying that because this isn't our case and we could get in trouble."

"Well, I think it's worth it, would you rather them to go to jail?"

"No!" Terry seemed even more insulted. "Look, I'm here, okay? I'll help."

"Good, that's what it should be."
