Amy's POV
'He has a date'. Those were basically the last words she had spoken that day. She was so sad not even that new binder Rosa bought her made her happy.
What was going on with her?
She was walking down the street, not even knowing her destiny. All she knew was that se needed space and time to think. Her head was clearly not in the right state. Amy felt a drop of water in her shoulder. Now one in her hair. She looked at the cement and noticed it had started raining. Wow, great, just what she wanted.
Amy entered the first place she saw, a coffee shop. She sat in a table and didn't even ask for coffee, she wanted to be home, erasing Jake of her memory.
"Amy Santiago?"
She turned on her seat. Her cheeks blushed when she saw that her ex-boyfriend was standing there, smiling at her.
"Oh, Teddy," she said awkwardly, lowering her head. "I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Yeah, I wasn't either," he said, sitting down in front of her. She cleared her throat, uncomfortable.
"So... what are you doing these days?" she asked.
"Eh, normal cop stuff," he said, shrugging. "I suppose you too."
Amy raised her eyebrows. That wasn't the way Teddy used to talk. He hadn't mentioned pilsners in the minute they had been talking, that was a record.
"Are you still... single?" he questioned timidly.
"Yes," she responded immediately, trying not to think about Jake. "But I guess it's better that way."
"It is," agreed Teddy. He smiled, as Amy felt a hand touching her leg. She swallowed.
"Hey, Teddy, I..." before she could say she didn't want to go back with him, he leaned in her direction and kissed her. She scowled and separated, getting mad.
Teddy frowned in confusion. Great, Amy, how do you manage to cause the same reaction in all the men?
"Sorry," she said, "it's just that I—"
"Shh," said Teddy, lifting a finger to shut Amy's lips. "I get it. Am I rushing it? Should we go to my apartment?"
"No, I don't want to, I don't like you anymore," she snapped finally.
Teddy's expression dropped.
"Why not? We were perfect for each other," he replied, smiling maniacally. He got closer to her, and she got to her feet.
"Hey, get off her!" she heard a voice yell. Her heart warmed when she saw Jake had stormed in the coffee shop and was now next to their table.
"Who are you?" scoffed Teddy.
"Jake Peralta, I'm with the NYPD," said Jake, showing his badge as his hand made its way to his hip, where he had his gun. "I'm... a friend of Amy's."
Amy lowered her head and swallowed again, avoiding eye contact with Jake.
"I wasn't even doing anything!" said Teddy. "Come on, Amy, admit it, you'd rather be with me."
Amy looked up to see Jake's tired eyes, and then glared with disgust at Teddy.
"I dont' like you anymore, get it in your head," she said, making her way to the exit, but she stopped before she reached the door to tell Jake "I'm a cop too, you know, I wasn't gonna let him hurt me."
That said, she stormed off the coffee shop and heard Jake's voice yelling her name. But she wanted to be alone.
The sheer look of him made her hurt.
