Sophia's POV

She was supposed to check when Jake woke up. She looked at him with pity. Even though he was kind of hurt, bleeding, his t-shirt covered in vomit and his shirt unbuttoned, he could somehow manage to still look cute. She didn't know how dark was that thought, but his messy curls were just extremely adorable.

She shook her head, a bit terrified.

No, why was she thinking about that? She was supposed to hate him. "Oh, do you actually have feeling for this idiot?" had mocked Teddy. Sophia swallowed guilt. Maybe she actually had feeling for that 'idiot'.

The weakness on his face made her feel terrible. Why did she do that? It had all happened very fast. But, how?? Why wa she doing that? Hurting a human-being, what has goten into her? Again, she shook her head. She couldn't look back, she was already in too deep.

Jake suddenly started lifting his head slowly and clumsily, and, even if Sophia couldn't see his eyes because of the bandage, she knew they must be full of anger or fright. Perhaps both.

"You're awake," she said, grinning unwittingly, but her smile vanished immediately.

"You think?" said Jake in an angry tone. "Why did I trust you? I always make that stupid mistake. Trusted my father and he left. Trusted Amy but she lied to me. Trusted you and you turned out to be some crazy maniac."

He probably didn't know how much that had hurt Sophia. Her heart broke when he coughed and spit more blood.

"I really would like not to be doing this," she mumbled, scared. "But I was just really mad. And that Amy Santiago, she couldn't help being jealous either, could she?"

"Please, you don't even know what you're talking about," said Jake. "I really liked her, that's all. It's fucking crazy that you all are doing this just because you didn't end up dating who you wanted! You do realized that, don't you?!"

Sophia lowered her head. "I'm telling you, I regret this so much. But you're already here and I don't wanna go to prison."

"You're a lawyer anyways, aren't you?" said Jake, looking really disgusted. "You have no soul anyhow."

Sophia sighed.

"Ok, listen to me, Peralta. I would help you getting out of here, but I prefer myself."

"Wow, you really are great at apologies," said Jake sarcastically.

Yeah, Sophia kind of sucked apologizing, but she was trying her best.

"Sorry," she said. Ironic, apologizing because she was bad apologizing. "Look, I just want you to know that I really liked you and I don't want you to be in pain. It's actually killing me seeing you like this. But I'm scared Teddy would so something to me."

She would've add 'maybe it's worth it' if Jake didn't have that face of repulse.

There was a silence in which Jake just sat there breathing with anger, until Sophia heard a sound.

"What was that?" she asked.

"My stomach," responded Jake. "I haven't eaten in all the morning, weren't you expecting me to be hungry?"

Sophia laughed with tenderness. "Do you want me to get you some food?"

Jake's face lit up, raising his head. "Yes please," he said, as Sophia rolled her eyes but smiled.

She went upstairs from the basement of the house they were hiding in, trying to calm down. Maybe next time Teddy left she could help him leaving that place, or she could just betray Teddy. She would as well go to jail, but she deserved it. She hated what she had turned into.
