Kai and Lisa were best friends in high school. They were always helping each other's back with girls and both were loyal, never falling for the same girl. It might be hard for Kai to get to her since their communication's been on and off ever since high school but he would still try.

And giving Jennie her number made him feel assured.

It was almost nine when Kai dropped Jennie and little Alice off at their house. He took the rest of the day off to have dinner with Jennie but he received a last minute call from his boss to get back to the office to complete some reports. A pity they couldn't spend more time together.

Jennie picked Alice up into her arms and walked up the yard to the house, admiring the stars in the dark sky.

"I'm surprised you managed to finish two bowls of guksu Alice." Jennie lightly bopped the top of Alice's nose with her index finger and the little girl smiled.

"It was so good Unnie, thanks to Kai Oppa I got to eat good food." She paused, "But I still don't like him."

"Why?" Jennie frowned. She knew Alice didn't really favour Kai ever since they started dating two years ago, but she thought it'd get better as time goes by. Turns out, she was wrong. Alice's feelings stayed the same, she was just as stubborn as Jennie sometimes.

For Alice, if she liked someone, she was sure about it. Same goes for if she doesn't. Her perception of people were based off first impressions, and she would be right about them most of the times. But she wasn't about Kai. She saw him as a bad guy who steals her sister away from her. True enough, Kai never really showed any concern for the little girl. Jennie was just too blind to realise.

"He gave you chopsticks but he didn't give me any. He's not nice." Alice pouted.

"But Unnie gave you a fork afterwards didn't I? I saw you roll your eyes at him, that wasn't very nice of you."

"He's not a gentleman. A real gentlemen would give chopsticks to me too, not give it to Unnie just because you're his girlfriend. That's rude." Alice tried to convince, but Jennie's frown grew.

"Alice, Kai Oppa is going to marry Unnie next year. If you still don't like him, Unnie's going to be sad." Jennie told Alice and her face immediately softened.

"Okay Unnie, I'm sorry."

"It's alright Alice."

"Can you read me a book later?"

"Sure baby."

When they got home safely, the brunette tugged Alice into bed after giving her a shower and reading her a book as promised.

Watching her little sister in slumber peacefully, Jennie smiled and went to get some rest as well. She was going to have to continue her job interview hunt routine again tomorrow and she was really starting to get tired of it.
