Chapter 4 Ignition

Travis and Emmett entered the apartment complex with fire extinguishers at hand, "Let's hurry Probie" Travis encouraged. Emmett followed Travis as they continued searching for the two kids, "So Probie where could these kids be?" Travis asked testing Emmett's knowledge.

"There kids, they could be hiding because they're scared" Emmett answered, when Emmett answered it came to him. "We check her apartment they can still be hiding there," Emmett thought. Travis smirked, "Good, lead the way Probie" Travis replied as Emmett leads the way to Steph's apartment floor.

Andy and Vic were near the top floor, "Herrera and Hughes this is Montgomery" Travis called in, Vic and Andy picked up their radio's listening. "Go ahead Montgomery" Andy replied listening to her radio. "Probie and I are heading to the top floor to find the kids" Travis explained, "Ok Montogomery, Hughes and I will finish extinguishing the fire here and we'll meet you up there" Andy replied putting her radio down.

Vic used the fire extinguisher to take out some fire in the stairwell, "How do you think Probie been doing?" Vic asked. Andy looked at Vic, "He seems nice so far, but he is still new around here which means he has a lot to learn" Andy answered. "Well, he seems more hardworking than his father" Vic commented. Andy smirked as they continued attacking those flames.

"Come on keep hitting those flames" Captain of Station 26 called ordering his people to take out the fire. Maya ran around making sure this fire was dying down, "Montgomery, I want an Update" Maya called in. Maya waited a few seconds, "Yes captain, Probie and I are approaching the possible location of the children" Travis reported in. "Ok keep me updated" Maya said before putting her radio down.

Emmett P.O.V

Travis was testing my knowledge and he hasn't been the only one. I understand I'm new but it's getting annoying I been to the academy and I can be a firefighter. I wish everyone can just ease off I just want to prove myself to the others. 

As Emmett was ranting inside his head he was hearing something and he looked at Travis, "Do you hear that?" Emmett asked. Travis stopped and listened, as the two listened it was coughing, Emmett and Travis looked at each other. "The children," Emmett and Travis thought, quickly they both went down the hallway listening.

As they were running Emmett was hearing another sound, "Wait what's that?" Emmett asked. 

*CRASH*

The apartment building shook and Andy and Vic fell onto the floor, Andy and Vic got up and went to their radio, "What the hell was that?" Andy asked. No one replied, "Anyone there? this is Andy" Andy asked again. Vic and Andy looked at each other, "Radio must have got damaged when we fell" Vic realized.

"Montgomery! Probie! Herrera! Hughes!" Maya shouted in her radio after hearing a loud sound from the apartment. "DAMN IT!!!" Maya shouted putting her radio away, "THE FIRE IS JUMPING!!!" A firefighter called. Maya ran quickly and saw the fire jumped floors, "WATCH OUT!!!" Dean called pushing a firefighter away. The fire was shooting out of the building becoming projectiles. Maya took cover and grabbed her Radio,  "Dispatch this is Station 19, requiring additional units at Queen Street North" Maya reported.

"Captain Bishop, Station 14 and 12 are 10 minutes out" Dispatch replied, Dean looked at Maya. "10 Minutes we still have people inside" Miller explained. "EVERYONE! DIVERT ALL HOSES TO EXTERIOR WE NEED TO CONTROL THIS FIRE UNTIL STATION 14 AND 12 GET HERE!!!!" Maya shouted ordering everyone.
