Chapter 50 Epiphany

An Epiphany is a moment of sudden and great revelation or realization...

Darla looked away and Emmett noticed, "She's embarrassed" Emmett stated, everyone looked at Emmett. Emmett came closer to Darla, "Darla, when you're with Tamil do you take off your bracelet because you don't want him to think that nothing is wrong with you?" Emmett asked. Darla nodded, "Yeah" Emmett translated, Tamil looked at Darla, "Darla, baby, you can tell me anything, a medical condition is not embarrassing, the athlete's foot I've been hiding from you is embarrassing, why do you think I keep my socks on when were..." Tamil mentioned but paused looking around.

"Studying" Tamil added as Warren and Emmett looked at them, "I love you, don't ever do that to me again" Tamil advised as he leaned in and kissed Darla on the forehead. Warren looked at Emmett and continued to get back to work.

Travis and Parker were in the Aid Car heading to the Scene, "We're almost there 1 minute out" Travis reported. "Damn Station 19's response time is insane" Parker commented, Travis paused, "So you're tagging along?" Travis questioned. "Yeah, I told you I like the energy 19 has" Parker answered as they pulled up at the location.

Dean walked over to Maya, "There was a gas leak and we vented but the bedroom combusted" Dean reported. "Hughes inside with Miller, Parker I want another hose line on that window, Montgomery check on the family" Maya ordered.

"We're fine, family is all good" The Father advised as Travis came closer, Dean stopped Travis and Maya was nearby. "They are not fine, do not leave him alone with them" Dean warned, Travis listened as he checked on the kid and mother.

Inside Vic and Dean were hitting the fire as Jack watched from the window as he was on the ladder. Jack grabbed his radio seeing the fire was gone," Parker were good fires out" Jack called in. "I want a thorough overhaul and cause investigation before you clear out" Maya ordered,  "That oughta keep 'em out for a week or two" Jack stated. "Keep who out?" Vic asked, "That jerks wife and kid" Jack answered.

"WHAT DID YOU DO MARCUS!!!" The Father shouted, "Stop yelling at him" The Mother demanded.  "I'M NOT YELLING, I'M RASING MY VOICE SO HE CAN HEAR ME!!!" The Father shouted. "Ok that's enough," Travis told the Father as Parker stepped in front blocking the father. Maya walked over, "Is there a problem sir?" Maya asked looking at the father, "Oh, hi this isn't a fire, it's a family matter so why don't you back the hell up" The Father stated.

Maya had her arms out, "Sir, I'm captain Maya Bishop let's take a walk" Maya tried to calm the father down. "NO! I DON'T WANT TO TALK!! SO WHY DON'T YOU PUT THE FIRE OUT THAT ONE OF YOUR FIREMAN'S STARTED!!!" The Father shouted as Parker held the Father back. "Who started the fire?" Travis asked the father.

 "I don't know the one who looks like every high school jock that fails my class" The Father answered. "Captain Bishop my husband is ill it makes him crazy it makes him confused" The Mother stated. The Father looked at his wife, "I'm sorry what?" The Father questioned coming closer. Travis and Parker were stopping him from getting closer, "I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR WHAT THE HELL YOU JUST SAID!!!!" The Father shouted. Travis was trying to talk the Father down as Jack and Vic walked out with the hose line.

Vic looked at Jack, "Did you start that fire?" Vic asked, "No there must have been a candle going or something like that, but I swear I might have, if I'd thought of it, listen this kid, all he has is his mom, and the husband is beating her and he has to watch that every day, if she can't get out then why not help her" Jack answered and explained to Vic as they reached the engine.

"Ok so what's the plan?" Vic asked, "Put the kid and wife in the aid car and tell the husband were taking them to grey Sloan" Jack answered. "Ok, but where are we really taking them?" Vic asked, "A good friend of mine" Jack answered. "Montgomery and Parker are on Aid Car they can help" Vic advised. "Thank you" Jack thanked as Vic walked away to finish clean up.

Andy was seeing Rigo, Ryan, her mom and Dad in her dreams and then Jack, "Are you dead?" Andy asked. "No Andy" Jack replied, "Then why are you here?" Andy asked, Jack smiled, "Andy, we're orphans" Jack revealed.

Andy woke up again and Sullivan looked concerned, "I'm an Orphan" Andy whispered, Sullivan looked at Andy. "Me too" Sullivan revealed, "What? you are?" Andy asked, Sullivan looked at Andy, "My parents died in a plane crash since I was 16" Sullivan explained.  "Then your wife died, and then Ripley died" Andy whispered. Andy hugged Sullivan, "We're all we have" Andy whispered as they shared this moment together.

The PRT truck was driving back to Station 19, Emmett stared at the wall as Warren looked at Emmett. "Look I lost my virginity at 16, so I know teenagers have sex, but...with handcuffs?" Warren questioned. "These kids were the same age as my foster kid, not that much older than tuck but they're already experimenting with toys" Warren commented. Emmett smirked a little and nodded but he was still thinking.

Warren sighed, "Alright, Probie I know you're new but, uh, look, this can't be the worst thing you've seen...oh wait, that's right you saw your Battalion Chief OD on Fentanyl" Warren advised and revealed.  Once Warren said that Emmett looked at Warren and his eyes widened, "So it was him?" Warren asked.

Emmett nodded yes, "Did you see the Syringe?" Warren asked, Emmett nodded yes again, "You gave him Naloxone?" Warren asked. "Yeah" Emmett answered, Warren shook his head stunned in disbelief. "What did he even say to you?" Warren asked, Emmett paused, "Well, he, uh.." Emmett stuttered as he cleared his throat.

"He said he had a prescription" Emmett replied, Warren looked pissed and shook his head hearing that.  "Then he told me that this Station runs on trust, and if people don't trust each other then people get hurt" Emmett explained. "Wow...that's a good one coming from him" Warren chuckled hearing that.

"So he doesn't have a prescription?" Emmett asked, Warren looked at Emmett, "Fentanyl Prescriptions are not injectable, alright?" Warren replied.  "They come in patches or lollipops" Warren answered. Emmett sat back and so did Warren, "And now I have to turn in my Battalion Chief" Warren explained.

Jack, Travis, and Parker got back into the Aid Car heading to Station 19, "Pruitt would be proud" Travis told Jack. "Travis is right, Marsha looks like such a sweet old lady, that wife and child will have an amazing home" Parker stated. Jack smiled then looked at Parker, "I guess today is the last day you'll be at the Station since Chief Dixon won't be doing any more hearings" Jack stated. "We'll miss having you around" Travis stated, Parker smirked, "Don't count the flames before they flashover" Parker stated. Travis and Jack looked at each other confused.

Back at the Station Warren was walking to the Beanery and Dean caught up, "Hey Warren can I ask you something?" Dean asked. "Yeah" Warren replied, "I been putting a will together and since I'm Pru's only parent if I die..." Dean was explaining. "Yeah..." Warren replied,  "Will you and Miranda take my baby if I die?" Dean asked. Warren stopped and was surprised, "You two are the best parents I know" Dean stated.

Warren smiled, "I'd be honored man" Warren replied as they shook hands and Dean hugged Ben. They smiled and walked in the Beanery and saw Maya and Emmett in the kitchen as Parker and Vic sat at the table.

"These pictures are amazing" Parker stated laughing seeing the photos Vic had of Maya and Travis. "Don't make me kick your ass Parker" Maya joked, Vic and Parker saw Warren and Dean walk in. "Parker, where is Gibson and Montgomery?" Maya asked, "Cleaning the Aid Car, they'll be up soon" Parker explained.

Vic looked at Warren, "Warren, winter? or Fall?" Vic asked, "What?" Warren questioned looking at Dean. "October?" Vic asked, Warren looked and saw Parker holding the Photos and Vic has a list of Months. "Ohh" Warren realized, "November? I can give you a sexy turkey costume" Vic offered making turkey sounds. Parker started laughing, "How about a Pilgrim?" Parker asked, "Even better a Sexy Pilgrim" Vic stated. "Come on man do it for Pruitt" Vic begged Warren but he was whistling avoiding the question.

Emmett looked around seeing everyone was smiling and he knew it was now or never, "I'm Gay" Emmett blurted out. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at Emmett in confusion.
