Whenever there is order, Chaos is not far behind...
Lieutenant Davis looked at Andy, "I'm sorry did I hear that right?" Lieutenant Davis asked surprised. "You said it yourself, the fire will spread and if we wait any longer we will die of the heat" Andy explained. Before Lieutenant Davis said anything else Lieutenant Parker got up, "Herrera is right" Lieutenant Parker admitted interrupting.
Everyone looked at Lieutenant Parker, "With the east side growing it will spread to our side and then split and jump and invade the south and west sides, if we don't get out we will be cooked alive" Lieutenant Parker explained. " Lieutenant Davis stood up, "If we go to the entrance and the fire is there, we will be trapped and we will die" Lieutenant Davis stated.
"But if we stay here and wait we will die anyway" Andy added, Lieutenant Davis paused and looked at his group. Lieutenant Davis sighed, "It's crazy, but it's our only option" Lieutenant Davis stated turning to look at Andy. Andy looked at the group, "We go together and we go slow and steady, the building is unstable and our vision will be blocked because of the smoke" Andy explained. Andy explained the plan as they all prepared to get out.
...
Chief Dixon and Sullivan were trying to patch their radios into their people inside, "This is Battalion Chief is anyone there?" Sullivan asked. All they could hear was static, "That's enough Robert, radios are..." Chief Dixon was about to say. "We....hear....you....sir.." Someone reported, Sullivan and Dixon looked at the radio as they heard static.
Chief Dixon picked up the radio, "If you can hear us what is your position?" Chief Dixon asked, "This...is...Jefferson...from..12...south....worse.....horrible....what....do........sir." Lieutenant Jefferson tried to say as the radio was cutting out. Chief Dixon turned to face some Lieutenants, "Somebody fix this network now" Chief Dixon ordered. Lieutenants went to the radio set up and started messing with the signals.
"Jefferson do you copy?" Chief Dixon asked, it was silent for a few seconds, "Yes Chief" Lieutenant Jefferson called in. Sullivan told the Lieutenants to stop as Chief Dixon was talking to Lieutenant Jefferson. "Finally, what's it like in there?" Chief Dixon asked, "Not good chief, it's like hell in here, we can't find a way out and were running low on air" Lieutenant Jefferson explained.
Chief Dixon looked at Sullivan, "Battalion Chief, tell Gibson and the frontline to clear the fireline so we can start search and rescue" Chief Dixon ordered. "NO! CHIEF! DON'T!" Lieutenant Jefferson shouted into the radio. Chief Dixon and Sullivan listened, "Why the hell not?" Chief Dixon asked, "Sir the building is losing stability, and gasoline is spilling everywhere from the giant tanks inside the building, we don't know where anyone else is and with the roof not vented we are in a hot box Chief, it suicide to send more people in, we're done for" Lieutenant Jefferson explained.
" Lieutenant, don't talk like that we will get you out" Sullivan spoke in the radio, Chief Dixon grabbed the radio from Sullivan. " Lieutenant Jefferson how many of you are in the building?" Chief Dixon asked. "I have four people including myself" Lieutenant Jefferson explained, Chief Dixon turned and looked at a Lieutenant. "How many firefighters do we have inside?" Chief Dixon asked.
" Lieutenant Herrera, Lieutenant Davis, and Lieutenant Parker are still in, and with their units with Lieutenant Jefferson we have a total of 10 firefighters inside" The Lieutenant explained. Chief Dixon looked down and picked up the radio, " Lieutenant Jefferson head to the entrance now we are getting you out" Chief Dixon explained. "Copy that sir" Lieutenant Jefferson replied hanging up.
Chief Dixon picked up his radio, " Lieutenant Gibson, you better have the exit clear we have firefighters on the way now" Chief Dixon ordered. Chief Dixon heard his radio beep as Jack was on, "Chief we have a problem" Jack reported. "What now?" Chief Dixon asked, "The storm has passed" Jack explained. Chief Dixon was confused, "How is that a problem we can call the helicopters again" Chief Dixon replied. "The problem isn't that the storm is gone, the problem is what the storm did before it disappeared" Jack explained.
" Lieutenant Gibson, what did the storm do?" Chief Dixon asked, "Chief, there is no entrance" Jack revealed. Sullivan and Chief Dixon looked at each other hearing that on the radio.
A Few Moments Earlier...
Jack and the frontline continued the attack as the rain was starting to die down, " Lieutenant the rain is dying down" A firefighter from 78 reported. Jack smirked and looked forward and saw part of the roof was covered in foam as the entrance's fire was going down. Emmett looked at Jack, "Uh, what do we do after?" Emmett asked nervously.
"When given the order we switch to search and rescue" Jack explained, Emmett panicked inside for a moment. "Go inside while an explosion could occur at any time inside" Emmett asked nervously. "Yeah, is that a problem Probie?" Jack asked looking at Emmett, Emmett looked at Jack. "Of course not" Emmett replied looking forward continuing to hit the fire with the water he was shooting out.
Jack picked up his radio about to call the command tent to tell them the entrance was almost clear. Before Jack pressed the button he was hearing rumbling in the sky, Jack looked up and his eyes widened seeing the clouds. Right when Jack blinked lightning struck once again hitting the top of the entrance clearing the foam giving the Ethanol fire oxygen and it caused it to flashover an explode on the roof.
Everyone on the frontlines fell back from the explosion and Jack shook his head as he got up slowly. Jack looked and saw the rain has stopped but all the foam they put on the roof was gone and Jack also saw that the entrance was now covered in broken cinder blocks from the roof.
Jack heard Chief Dixon calling his name on the radio, "Lieutenant Gibson, you better have the exit clear we have firefighters on the way now" Chief Dixon ordered.
The Present
"Are there any other exits?" Chief Dixon asked as a group of Lieutenants and Sullivan looked at the maps. "No Chief, it was the only one" A Lieutenant revealed, Chief Dixon slammed his hand on the desk, "SON OF A BITCH!!!" Chief Dixon cursed. "GET ME LIEUTENANT JEFFERSON, NOW!!!" Chief Dixon shouted. Chief Dixon tried to get word to Lieutenant Jefferson so they could warn them that the entrance was gone.
