Lonely.

That's how Jungkook felt.

He laid on his bed, used tissues making a strange pile on the floor beside him in his room. He was lucky that it was the weekend, because he wouldn't have known how to show his face at school without having even a little bit of time to prepare.

Jungkook bit his lip again when he felt sobs threatening to rack through his body. His mind had been consumed with thoughts of Hyuna and Taehyung. And by consumed, he meant that they wouldn't leave him alone.

Once he got home after the breakup, he immediately dropped his bag and went to his room. His parents gave him a few confused stares, but left him alone for the most part. He had grown distant with them lately.

When he got to his room, he stared at himself in the mirror. He started at his feet then worked his eyes up, all the way to his head.

If he was being honest, he didn't recognize himself.

The Jungkook he once was had been hidden away by layers of makeup and false confidence and fancy clothes. Tears pricked Jungkook's eyes and he hurried to change out of his clothes and take his makeup off.

He dug around in his closet and found the big sweatshirt and short shorts that he used to love. He quickly put them on and headed back into his bathroom, gathering up all the makeup and putting it in a bag. Jungkook could probably give it to his mom or just throw it out.

Jungkook headed back to his bed and curled up in his blankets, the overwhelming sense of grief and regret piling on top of him like never before. He sobbed. The mound of tissues beside him was growing bigger.

Maybe it was for the best. Maybe now he'd finally be able to return to the shy Jungkook he was before.

Is that what everyone wanted? For him to be the shy boy who dressed in pastels? The boy who had his face buried in cheesy romance novels and sketchbooks, fingers permanently dirty from all of his drawing utensils?

He bit his lip, trying to hold back all of the sobs that had finally died down. Jungkook knee that he had really fucked up this time.

"Jungkook?" his mother asked softly, knocking gently on the door. Jungkook responded with a despondent hm.

"Dad and I are going to the market. Call if you need anything, okay?" she explained. Jungkook didn't respond, but he could tell that she was waiting outside of the door. Eventually, she walked away and out of the house with his father.

Jungkook knew they were worried about him. And he couldn't really blame them for not knowing how to express it. He just wished it was easier for him to apologize for everything that had happened over the past few months.

Jungkook hesitated.

Apologize?

He picked up his phone and scrolled through his contacts, making a mental note to clear them all out later. Jungkook clicked on a certain contact, one that he hadn't talked to in a really long time, and waited anxiously on the end of the line.

"Jungkook?"

It was really good to hear Jimin's voice again.

"H-Hyung," Jungkook mumbled, being immediately reduced to sobs again. He heard Jimin spurred on his end of the phone and laughed, albeit sadly.

"Kook, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" Jimin rambled and Jungkook bit his lip as more tears trailed down his face.

"I'm sorry, hyung," he cried, feeling a little proud at how he said the words. Jimin sighed on the other end, and Jungkook could tell he was smiling.

"Don't be sorry," Jimin said softly, but more tears only trailed from Jungkook's eyes. "I'll be over in a few. Do you want me to bring hair dye?"

Jungkook laughed. "Y-Yes, hyung," he said, a small smile forming on his face. Jimin mumbled something about coming over soon and briefly hung up.

Jungkook set his phone down and stumbled over to his bathroom, pulling off his contacts and replacing them with the glasses he used to wear a lot. Soon, he heard the doorbell ring and took in a deep breath. He ran downstairs and opened the door.

"Kook!" his hyungs yelled, all tumbling inside of Jungkook's house. Jungkook felt tears prick his eyes, again, and knew that his eyes would be very swollen the next day.

"I-I'm so sorry," he stuttered, sniffling and holding back as many tears as he could. Everyone looked down at him fondly.

"Oh no, he's finally admitting he's wrong," Yoongi teased. Jungkook tried to hide his smile but couldn't, and laughed along with the rest of his friends.

"Okay, Hobi's in charge of picking a movie, Yoongi's gonna make some popcorn, Joonie's not gonna touch anything so nothing breaks," Jin teased, glancing at Namjoon but then getting up to close the front door, "And Jimin and I are gonna pamper you as much as humanely possible."

Jungkook giggled, a liveliness filling his face that hadn't been there for months. Jin sent everyone off to do their own tasks and Jimin dragged Jungkook upstairs.

"Okay, where are you hiding the face masks," Jimin began, immediately searching through all of Jungkook's drawers. Jungkook giggled as Jin began to wet it.

"Do you think this shade is dark enough?" Jin asked, pointing to the bottle on the floor with his foot. Jungkook nodded and watched as Jin fussed with Jimin to get him to pass the bottle.

"Hyung you're so mean," Jimin whined, passing the hair dye. Jin rolled his eyes and applied it to Jungkook's hair. Jimin put a face mask on the poor boy and Jungkook stared at himself in the mirror.

"Okay, I think we just wash it out in like 30 minutes," Jin mumbled. Jungkook shot him a confused look.

"Hyung, please tell me that you know what you're doing," Jungkook mentioned wearily. Jin laughed and dragged Jungkook and Jimin back downstairs, reminiscing over the time he cut his own hair with kitchen scissors.

"Okay, I chose this movie on Netflix because it looks like something Jungkookie would watch," Hoseok said, pointing excitedly to the screen. Yoongi walked in with a bowl of popcorn, and m&ms but only Jungkook needed to know about those, and sat down on the couch.

"I found the blankets!" Namjoon said, tripping over a random cord as he carried a bunch of blankets over to the couch. Everyone started laughing and Jungkook smiled, even though he was sandwiched in the middle of all his hyungs.

He felt normal again. And it was a good normal.

"Start the movie already," Yoongi whined, passing the bowl of popcorn over to Jungkook. Namjoon draped the blankets over everyone as Hoseok started the film.

"I love you guys," Jungkook mumbled as the screen faded to black.

All of his hyungs smiled down at him. And Namjoon teased him about crying again.

He would admit that he missed Taehyung. Having a boyfriend was fun, but having five friends was even better.
