Jungkook sighed, rolling his shoulders to get rid of their stiffness. He had just finished his last AP exam, the biology exam, and had very conflicting emotions.
Part of him was filled with relief. He had done well on all of his exams and no longer had to stress about them anymore. But the other part of him was sad.
He knew that this was the last step before graduation. Before he parted from his friends to move on to college and greater things. He wasn't sure if he was ready to move on, though.
The summer sun was still high up in the sky, resting heavily on the earth in the form of a thick blanket. Jungkook fanned at himself in a desperate attempt to get rid of the sweat that was starting to form on the back of his neck.
"I wonder where Jin-hyung wants to go eat," Jimin asked, dragging along a depressed Hoseok. Jungkook hummed in agreement, finding Taehyung walking out of the lecture hall behind him. He smiled and waved, too hot to run over and actually give the boy a hug.
"Where are we going?" Taehyung asked once he caught up with the group, a thin layer of sweat already starting to coat his forehead. Jungkook grabbed a tissue from his backpack, dabbing away the sweat on Taehyung's face as Jimin answered his question.
"Hyung was thinking of getting cold noodles and then stopping to get patbingsu," Jimin answered, looking at his phone to text Jin and find out where he was. Taehyung nodded along and Jungkook's mouth watered. The idea of something cold and sweet sounded so appetizing, especially after a difficult exam.
Hoseok sighed, finally making some noise after he had left the exam. Jungkook assured them that he would be fine going into it, and the two even studied together. Mrs. Choi's words must've gotten to Hoseok, because Jungkook knew there was no way that Hoseok would completely fail an AP exam.
Jungkook turned to his phone, hearing the familiar ding! that came. He unlocked his phone and smiled at the text. "Jin-hyung just sent me the address," he said, looking up at Taehyung and then to Jimin and Hoseok.
"He sent it to me too," Jimin said, looking down at his phone, "Jungkookie, are you going with Taehyung?"
Jungkook paused for a moment and looked up at Taehyung, his eyes widening a little more. Taehyung smiled down at him, and placed a cold hand on the small of his back, rubbing slightly.
"Yeah," Jungkook mumbled, wanting nothing more than to just get out of the heat. Jimin nodded and pulled away a sulking Hoseok and Taehyung led Jungkook to his parked car.
He quickly unlocked the doors and ushered Jungkook in, hopping into the driver's seat himself and cranking up the AC. Jungkook let out a sigh of relief, feeling the cool air fan away his sweat. He was glad that he finally got out of the sweltering heat.
"Okay," Taehyung began, leaning forward against the steering wheel and looking over at Jungkook, "What's wrong, baby?" He reached out and tucked a stray piece of damp hair behind Jungkook's ear, smiling at him fondly.
"N-Nothing, Hyung!" Jungkook responded, his face blushing from both the sudden attention and the heat. Jungkook quickly turned away, Taehyung's hand softly brushing against his cheek.
Taehyung frowned, pulling his hand back and placing both his arms on the steering wheel so he could rest his head. "Don't lie," he teased, turning down the AC once the car had cooled down.
