Sometimes Eddie didn't entirely mean to be a brat. Like today, he hadn't meant to forget to tell Richie that some of his old college friends were visiting LA and that he'd promised to go clubbing with them. It was just that when he had got off the phone call and had gone to tell Richie, Richie had pulled him onto his lap and done things with his hands that had made Eddie lose his mind for a good few hours. So, he was definitely very surprised when Eddie got out of bed afterwards and went to his closet.
"Don't put clothes on, baby." Richie said, following him and trying to grab hold of him but Eddie was too quick.
Eddie laughed lightly as he scanned his racks of clothes for the perfect thing to wear. He hadn't been out to a club since he was in college since Richie much preferred it when they stayed in and he couldn't remember what he'd worn the last time he'd been.
He plucked out a hanger with a white crop-top that Richie had bought him a couple of months ago and held it up to his body, spinning around to show Richie.
"What do you think?" He asked.
Richie frowned at the item of clothing. He knew from experience that it was a good look on Eddie but it was very revealing.
"I think that you're not leaving the house with that on." He crossed his arms across his chest. "And where exactly do you think you'll be wearing it?"
Eddie rolled his eyes. "Keep up, Rich. I'm going out with Kate and Bree from NYU, remember? We're going to some bars and then maybe a club afterwards." He said, putting the crop-top back on the rail and continuing his flicking.
Richie racked his memory but he definitely couldn't remember Eddie ever mentioning this. He might have said something about his college friends being in the area but he had definitely never said anything them going out drinking. He walked towards his boyfriend and grabbed his arms away from the clothes, tucking him back into his body and turning him around.
"Remind me." Richie said, being kind. He could easily have had a different reaction to Eddie not keeping him informed but he knew that Eddie really liked spending time with his old friends and he didn't want to stop him from doing so.
Eddie wriggled slightly but Richie held firm. After a few seconds Eddie relaxed in the grip and wound his arms around Richie's waist, hugging him close.
"Kate and Bree are taking me to some bars downtown and then we might go to a club afterwards." Eddie said with a little shrug like it was no big deal.
And normally, it would be less of a big deal but Kate in particular had never been a big fan of Richie. She'd shared an apartment with Eddie when they'd first started going out and she'd always been there when he'd drop Eddie back off from dates with a scowl and some kind of comment about dating someone his own age. So, normally Richie would have no problems tagging along with them and making sure that Eddie got home safe and didn't get too drunk but he just knew that Kate would have something unpleasant to say about that.
"Oh well then, baby, you've got to look fabulous." Richie laughed, trying to hide his discomfort and walking across Eddie's closet to the other side. He flicked through a few pieces until he found what he was looking for- a plain white t-shirt with little cut outs around the shoulders and hem. It fit tightly on Eddie's body, emphasising his tan but also highlighting how toned his body was. It drove Richie absolutely wild.
"What about this?" Richie said, thrusting the shirt towards Eddie.
Eddie tried it on and it fit just as Richie remembered- stretched tightly over his shoulders and abs and it even made his recent nipple piercing way more noticeable. It almost made Richie want to change his mind and not let him out after all.
