Chapter 15

Omkara stood in front of the ICU like a dead man. Gauri was lying inside. Today Omkara was sure about one thing. He loved her! He loved her a lot. But the painful thing is that when he realized this,his love was battling with life. Omkara was not a fool to not understand how all of it happened. Tej Singh Oberoi! That's the only name that came into his mind. Right now he felt like he was the reason she was there.
"Excuse me, are you related to the patient?" Omkara came out of his trance hearing a nurse speak.
"Why?" it was all he could say.
"You have to deposit some money
Otherwise we can't proceed with the treatment."
"I...I am. I am closely related to her." He spoke. Omkara did not know why he said that. But he wanted to make sure that he would be the closest to her. The nurse nodded and left to get a form. He looked at the woman who had brought Gauri here. He saw Shivaay and Anika bhabi thanking her. Going towards them he bent down to touch the elder woman's feet saying he could not thank her enough for saving his life. She only said it was her duty to save a person who was lying on the road lifelessly. The woman left afterwards.
The nurse gave Omkara a form and asked if they could deposit 75000 rupees immediately.
"Money is no issue," he replied.
As he filled the hospital form,he kept looking at the relative's column. He wrote his name and then ticked the space beside the word.... husband.

"The patient is out of danger now. We will be shifting her to the ward in a few hours." The doctor announced in the wee hours of the morning.

Gauri was soon shifted to the ward. Seeing so many wires attached to her and her lying unconscious was terribly painful.
"Why...why isn't she waking up?" his voice cracked.
"She is sleeping due to sedatives," said the doctor.
"She will be fine,right?" Asked Anika.
"Hmm...but remember she is still very fragile. She needs to be taken care of. Be careful about her."
"When can we take her home?"
"We'll keep her for a few more days."

A few hours later Gauri finally woke up. She slowly opened her eyes and whimpered in pain. Only Omkara was in the cabin. He quickly rushed to her and holding her hand he shouted for a nurse.
A nurse came running inside. Seeing the patient waking up she rushed to call the doctor.

After checking her up the doctor said that she is fine but very weak as she had lost a lot of blood. Omkara's blood boiled thinking about the person who was the reason behind her condition.
He knew very well who had done this. TEJ SINGH OBEROI. But right now his main concern is Gauri. He bent down to gently kiss her on her forehead. Gauri looked at his in shock. She was too weak to say something. She kept staring at him.
"Om...Omka...
"Shh...don't say anything. Take rest. I will call Anika bhabi and others."

A while later everybody came and met her. Anika decided that she is gonna stay with Gauri. He protested a lot but couldn't stand against his brothers and bhabi. They forcefully sent him home as he also needed rest.

Omkara entered Oberoi Mansion and saw Tej sipping his on his morning tea while reading the newspaper calmly. His Gauri suffered so much and he was enjoying!
"Tej Singh Oberoi!!" Omkara shouted as he held his father's collar.
"Why did you do this to her? What had she done to you?"
"You cannot love a low standard girl like her." Tej said calmly.
"I will kill you." Omkara shouted as he forcefully grabbed his throat. But other family members separated them and saved Tej.
"She has to go out of my way. Maybe this time she survived but not next time. This time I'll be successful." Tej spoke as he knew that even if accepted his crime no one could harm him. He is very much powerful. And a petty artist like Omkara can do nothing nor the other family members would go against him because that will sabotage Oberoi reputation.
"We'll see how successful you will be when I marry her I'm front of you all. I,Omkara Singh Oberoi,will protect her." I'm challenged and left to his room angrily.
