Marley dumped out a trash can and began sorting through it, Dustin and Lucas bending down to help her. They were looking for anything that could be used to disguise the interior of the shed, turned interrogation room so Will wouldn't recognise where he was, and it was awkwardly silent, to say the least. Not for Marley but definitely between the boys. She continued sorting through the trash, unbothered by the atmosphere.
The youngest Harrington glanced up and over at the kitchen window, seeing Max and Mike chatting in the kitchen. She really hoped the two of them would get along, they were both really important to her and having to split herself between the two would be awful.
"Hey Lucas," Marley pulled herself from her daze and looked between the two boys, "I'm...I'm sorry about Dart and all. I guess I just thought that he was...my friend. I was wrong. I broke the rule of law, so if you want your girlfriend to take over my spot in the party, I understand."
Marley's eyes widened slightly as Lucas sighed, "She's not my girlfriend."
"I saw the way you looked at her when you came down from lookout like you were communicating," Dustin explained. Marley looked to Lucas who quickly shook his head.
"It wasn't like that!"
"Maybe, but I could feel it," Dustin stated, shaking his head. Marley threw her trash bag down and walked away, "Marley! What's wrong!"
"Don't worry about me! I just feel dizzy all of a sudden!" She shouted back entering the house. Lucas hit Dustin upside the head and watched as she turned into the kitchen going for a glass of water.
"-Who'd want a stupid zoomer in their party anyway," Max sounded, Marley raised her hand, walking fully into the kitchen and looking between Mike and Max quizzically.
"Uh, me?" Max looked at her and smiled glancing back down into her lap to watch what she was doing. Mike groaned and stood up, leaving the two of them alone to talk, the Harrington rolled her eyes and grabbed a glass from the cabinet, filling it up from the tap and taking down a massive gulp of water. "He didn't say anything out of order?"
"No."
"That's good," Marley hummed, Max shook her head with a smile and stood, jumping up onto the counter, looking down at Marley. She just sat for a moment, watching her drink before tilting her chin up and glancing over the girls face.
"Yes, Mayfield?" Marley smirked and closed her right eye when Max grazed her fingertip over her cut eyebrow.
"Does it hurt?" She asked quietly, Marley flushed and pushed the girl's hand away. She turned to look out the window, where both Dustin and Lucas were staring at her, thumbs raised. Dustin's sudden change of heart startled Marley and she cocked a brow, looking to Lucas who mouthed 'he knows'. What he knew exactly, Marley did not know but apparently, it was enough to stop him from crushing on Max. "Harrington? Does it hurt?"
"What? Oh yeah, think you could kiss it better?" Marley asked in a too-serious tone, Max took it as a joke and rolled her eyes with a smile. Marley coughed and sought to change the subject, "So, when were you planning on giving me my art pad back?"
"Oh shit!" Max hastily grabbed it from her pocket and held it out to Marley, "Sorry."
"It's fine," Marley smiled softly, taking it and flipping through, she stopped and glanced over a page she thought unused and then back at Max who had her arms crossed with a smug expression. "You suck."
"Excuse me? I tried my best alright," Max huffed, leaning over the book and resting her head against Marley's to look down at the drawing she had done through the rest of lunch the day Marley had left the pad with her. "I think it looks pretty good."
