A rush of footsteps sounded through the shopping strip of the supposedly closed mall as the party plus Nancy and Jonathan ran to where they might find Dustin. They had managed to sneak through an open back entrance without being spotted by a black-clad man who was closing the mall's main doors. Even though Marley had insisted she could have knocked him out. Everyone had objected to that idea, Max louder than the rest as she had seen the massive gun strapped to his persons.

There was a sound akin to radio static that made Marley freeze, her brows furrowing as she realised nobody else had heard it, she jotted it down to her imagination for a second before hearing the sound again, this time coming to a complete stop.

Everyone turned to look at her, confusion and urgency on their faces but the girl ignored them and ventured forward, lightly pressing at Max's shoulder when the girl went to move with her, only to immediately regret it when she realised what she was doing, "Sorry but just...stay put a second."

"Marley--"

"I'm not going to do anything stupid," Marley urged, looking at Max once before finally reaching the railing a few beeps of a radio sounding from bellow them. She strained her ears listening to a mumble of Russian coming from a man, similarly dressed as the one she had seen in front of the mall. Suddenly, she thought back to the Russian communication Dustin had wanted her to translate and it all came together. The children the black-clad man had mentioned over his radio, he was talking about Dustin and more likely than not her brother and Robin too.

A gun came into view and Marley tensed, her eyes going wide as she realised the man had pulled it up and aimed over at a counter where she then caught the sight of Steve's stupid hair poof. Every ounce of her being urged her to rush in and help them but she remembered Max's pleading from a mere half an hour ago and hesitated, instead, turning to look at Eleven.

"El...do you think you have enough energy to use your powers?" She asked hesitantly, Mike went to argue, retort, cuss her out but Eleven stopped him, dislodging herself from his arms and instead, limping over to Marley who caught her steady, "don't push yourself if you can't."

However, Eleven's arm was already over the railing because she had seen the reason Marley looked so scared and immediately caught on. The others rushed forward to get a glimpse of the scene bellow before immediately clocking on in recognition and turning to Marley who was staring somewhere in the distance.

It was the first time she'd turned away from a fight and relied on someone else to take her place willingly. She had never done that before and every one of them knew, so they didn't say anything, Max just remained silent with a smile on her face as she snuck her hand round and intertwined her fingers with Marley's. There was a slight jolt of surprise but soon enough, the Harrington turned around and joined them in watching Eleven fling a display car into the four men gathered with their guns raised at the counter Dustin and no doubt Steve was hiding behind.

No sound left Marley's mouth at the action and only the slightest of twitches pulled at her brow but otherwise, she looked calm despite feeling a little wrong about not jumping in and letting Eleven do the job instead. It was forced down after a moment and Marley found herself getting dragged down the elevator by an excited looking Max.

What Marley didn't expect to see when they had eventually gotten to the bottom floor of the mall was Steve's broken and busted lip, coupled with a nasty looking black eye.

"You flung that thing like a Hot Wheel!" Dustin exclaimed skipping over to Mike and Eleven.

"What the hell happened to you!" Marley shouted, pulling Max with her as she grabbed Steve into a hug with her other arm, it ended up more of a group hug as Steve had pulled Max in as well.
