Minor gore warning
Kayn POV

There are seven days a week.
One hundred and sixty eight hours in a week.
Ten thousand and eighty minutes in a week.

But out of all the days in a week, all the hours in a week, it has to be today.
A stray wind blows the curtains into a beautiful swirl, almost like a flame dancing in the wind, with droplets of rain clinging to the curtain. Beautiful, yes, but with a sad undertale. Just like me, I guess.

"You're not Carrie, are you?" Obvious, I knew but still nessessary.

A strange glint entered her eye, her cherry red lips rose in a small smile. Hate. Blatant abhor shone on her delicate heart shaped face. This was not the emotion of a twenty-something year old girl. This was the hatred that only someone who has known the harshness and death. This was cruel hate.
Her hands didn't shake as she pointed the gun at us. She wasn't new to this. She knew exactly where to shoot. She was a killer.

"Carrie? Don't make me laugh."her sweet voice barely masked her chilling killing intent. "Comparing me to a spineless, pitiful human, aren't you afraid of death?"

She was baiting me, she liked to mess with her prey before she finished them. A sadist. Fear was what she wanted. Fear was what I would never show.
My hands curled into fists at my side. Fallens are despicable awful creatures. They prey on the weak and the helpless for their own pleasure. They are pure evil. They kill for the rush. Human life is a game to them. It's sickening.
I glance over at Kronos, who hadn't breathed a word since she revealed her true side. I pitied him. No one should ever have to feel the vulnerability and fickleness of their life in the hands of a stranger, but that doesn't change the fact that its an irredeemable fault in our planet. Where everyone has stared death in the face at least once. Where someone succumbs to its pull every single day.

"Then who are you?"I ask, not daring to look away from her cold eyes. I might not be afraid of death but it's just plain stupidity to show weakness to a power hungry being.

Her smile widens to show a row of pearly teeth. "Curious aren't you? I like that. I like that a lot. "

"I'm Beluah of a thousand voices."

What a tacky name. As amused as I felt, I kept my thoughts to myself.
A phone rings startling me from my thoughts. I look over at Kronos, where the sound was coming from, Beluah also stares at him.
She places one of her tunas on the far ends of the table, out of our reach, and reaches out her tiny hands.

"Phones. "

Warily and cautiously I reach into my pocket and hand her my phone. I watch in horror as she drops it into the centerpiece in the middle of the table filled with water. The screen lights up then goes dark. I got that phone last week!
Kronos hands over his ringing phone a bit reluctantly. Not caring for his reluctance Beluah answers the phone.

"Hello?" A soft deep voice leaves her lips, a contrast to her high pitched sweet voice from minutes ago. She sounded exactly like Kronos.

That was her gift. Like talents, every fallen possesses something special they can do, but unlike talents they can do it to a supernatural level as they are, in fact, a being of higher power than humans. Beluah's voice was her gift. Even though Kronos hadn't said much she still knew how to mimic his voice perfectly.

"I can't talk now. I have to go." She says quietly. Then it happens.

I look over and our eyes meet. Kronos and I nod at the same time.
The mind is a special thing. A powerful thing, but its only downfall is the fact that it has a hard time multitasking. Trying to pretend to be someone else even if one has the gift of mimicking others voices is hard on its own and even more so when you have to focus on making sure someone is securely threatened at gunpoint.
It's impossible.

I kick the coffee table which knocks the unsuspecting Beluah off her feet. To break her fall she lands on her hands which held Kronos' phone. I inwardly wince as I hear the sickening crunch.
The smile on her face grew as she launched in delight. Ignoring the pain of the glass shards sticking into her legs she points her gun at me. I duck behind the couch as a bullet whizzed past me. I search around for a weapon but come up short. More bullets rang through the house.

"Kayn." Kronos calls, I look around the couch before I realize it was a trap.

The bleeding Beluah smiles triumphantly at me. Her gun pointed straight at my head.
Shock rises on her face when Kronos smashes a vase down on her head. She falls like lead to the floor.
Kronos looks over at me and smiles. As I notice a thin line of blood coming from his hairline he faints too.
I rush over, crouching over his body. He was breathing. Gently I hold his hand to check his pulse. A rush of pain rushing up my arm startles me and I let go but just as it came it quickly left. Although startled I ignored the pain and held his hand again. No pain. I didn't question it and check his pulse. Weakish but steady.
Anger rushed through me as I glanced over at Beluah. Still I rushed over to her phone and called the ambulance.

I won't let you go so easily next time, Beluah.
