Background: the easiest way to get out of Butte, Montana is to join the Military so that's what Mark did. He joined at 18 and qualified for BUD/S so he went through SEAL training at the ripe old age of 19, essentially being a toddler in comparison to the 23 and 24 year olds. He made jokes and laughed during the hardest parts giving his class moments of respite during some of the hardest parts of their lives. After he passed Bud/s and got his Trident he spent a year training with allies like the SBS or Special Boat Service from Britain, until his birthday in 2001. While on Base, he watched as the towers collapse, he like most of America wanted to fight. He knew that with his conventional SEAL team he'd see combat but he wanted more so when he was told about Seal Team 6 or "the boys across the street" he crossed the street and started the process to join Team 6.
